Lost jobs during George's excellent vacations
Bush's strategy seems to be laying blame anywhere and everywhere for just about everything that has taken place since his selection.

I'd like to figure out how many vacation days he's taken since January 2001. Take that and divide it into the number of jobs lost and you get the average number of people who lost their job each day Bush was resting.

The other telling statistic would be the amount of time he spent fundraising, the amount raised, and the cost to the taxpayer.

Any ideas on how to document his time on the job?

You can probably search news stories to track much of his vacation time but the fund raising time is likely buried.

3. A couple figures
I've got 250 vacation days until August 2003. I don't know if that includes the 28 in August which was the second longest vacation, Nixon took the longest. I've also got 100 fundraisers by Bush or Cheney in 2003.

4. Here's a figure...............
albeit dated.............

From the WaPo:

A CBS News tally shows this is Bush's 26th presidential trip to Crawford. He has spent all or part of 166 days at the ranch or en route -- the equivalent of 51/2 months. When Bush's trips to Camp David and Kennebunkport, Maine, are added, according to the CBS figures, Bush has spent 250 full or partial days at his getaway spots -- 27 percent of his presidency so far
