Go, Lou Dobbs!
Lou just reported that Honda profits go straight back to Japan.

Bush's* little speech ditty today in Ohio is getting slammed!

4. W bragged
that foreign countries were coming to America to build products!

Well, (my paraphrasing here) Lou pointed out that the Honda plant in Ohio takes advantage of our warm welcome (very low taxes as per incentives from towns) and takes all of their profits back to Japan.

Here's another example: The Mitsubishi plant in Bloomington/Normal, IL is a good example of this crap: when the Town of Normal (don't laugh!) got the car plant, they thought they would make so much money because of the increased demand for services that they let Mitsubishi get away with about 1/10the the taxes they should pay.

Well, The Grapes of Wrath hordes descended upon the town like locusts, looking for jobs. Mitsubishi brought in hundreds of their own people and hired very few locals. So the town now had lots more poor people to take care of.

Then Mitsubishi got slapped with a huge harassment suit by the women workers. You probably remember this suit. It was huge.

And the profits don't benefit the town, either. The $ went to the Mother Company in Japan.

3. Oh, I didn't want to hear that.
Especially since my 2003 Honda has so many things falling apart that I'm wondering how they're making money with all the warranty issues. There are problems with the passenger seat airbag light that still hasn't been resolved.

7. From 88 to 92 I worked for a Japanese company.
We made steel tube for eventual use in the Japanese car plants springing up around the country.

Every large plant is located at least an hour from a large city. They wanted the proximity to airports, but wanted to be out of commuting range for inner city workers (blacks, specifically).

Our little plant in Little Rock was setting productivity records in the corporation. We were gearing up for a new production line, the equipment was already on the floor still in crates.

The big brass came from Japan to congratulate us on our production. When they got there they saw our workforce was 50% black, they stayed an hour and left on the next flight to Dallas. Two days later we got word that the plant would be shuttered and the work moved to a planned plant in rural Indiana.

Don't trust those bastards as far as you can throw a Honda.
