Big News from 21st Century Democrats-Partnership with Howard Dean!
Edited on Fri Mar-19-04 12:10 AM by mzmolly
"We're thrilled today to announce the formation of a close partnership with former Vermont Governor Howard Dean and his new grassroots organization, Democracy for America. Together, we'll train and mobilize the hundreds of thousands of Democratic activists who want to carry on the Dean campaign's legacy.

21st Century Democrats and Democracy for America will work together to recruit, train, and place activists on campaigns in targeted races around the country. During his campaign for president, Governor Dean created a grassroots network of over 640,000 people.

"This partnership is really a perfect fit," said 21st Century Democrats Executive Director Kelly Young. "Governor Dean’s goals and our mission fit together hand in glove. He has a proven record of bringing energetic, motivated Democratic activists to the table. We have a record of effectively training and placing activists on targeted races around the country and winning those races. It’s going to prove to be a very effective, winning combination."

For more information, and to find out how you can be a part of this exciting new step for Democratic grassroots activism, visit our website."

2. I'm so excited!!!!!
I had just joined up to receive 21st century's email newsletters within this last month hoping for some opportunity to do something in my own community with the support of a group like this would come my way. Now that Dean is on board it's even better!!! I think when my daughter goes to college in a couple of years I will look into running for a local office and hopefully these people can be my support (along with the Democratic party, of course!!). I am excited and hope I can be a part!!:bounce:

And how many primaries and caucuses did he win? Frankly, I wasn't all that impressed with his campaign. God help us if Kerry lets Dean make any crucial strategy decisions.

Wouldn't that just be a fucking tragedy :eyes:

5. if it wasn't for Dean, democrats wouldn't have a voice right now.
he energized the party. give credit where credit is due. you may not like dean, but he has a magic formula of energizing people that the kerry people would be wise to try and emulate.

i'm all for kerry 2004. but i'm also all for revamping the base of the democratic party. it is time to clean house and improve the party.

this is very good news indeed! I am already a member and looking forward to seeing more of Dean.

8. And how many primaries did Kerry win with 50%+?
Yes, Kerry may have won the nomination, but even in Iowa and NH 70% of the voters did NOT vote for Kerry.

Don't get too smug yet, Kerry still has a lot of explaining to do before we (the non-Kerry voters) volunteer for his campaign and write him a check.
