How exactly does McCain help the ticket anymore than Breaux?

Breaux will get the people in the middle too. And will maybe return LA and ARK back to the Dems where it belongs. McCain would upset a big part of the base with his stance on Abortion. And I also hear Bayhs name around here a lot. Do you people not remember when he was brought up as a possible Gore VP. The Womens Rights Folks got upset. The only tickets that make any sense are

Kerry-Breaux
Kerry-Bredesen

forget about him

for the ticket or the party.

crazy vote. And I'm not talking the right-wing nut job, but the actually insane.

That might make an interesting Zogby Poll: among the insane, how many support X,Y, or Z.

I don't think Kerry WILL ask McCain. I don't think Kerry SHOULD ask McCain. And I don't think McCain would accept if asked.

That being said, I think it would be an electoral winner. McCain is MUCH more well-known than Breaux and has fans across the political spectrum. I think a lot of people LIKE some conservatism but are turned off by the religious right. McCain appeals well to those people. He's not seen as a "typical" politician and appeals to a lot of independents and a fair number of Republicans.

I also think people are tired of the extreme partisanship in Washington, and such a "unity" ticket would be very attractive to a lot of people.

But I still don't want it to happen, and don't believe it's at all likely.

But it still seems like a great idea to take America back at home and abroad.

Unfortunately, I don't foresee any Republican with the guts to cross the line knowing that they will be passionately crucified for doing so. I should also admit that I don't like Republicans. So, I agree that's NOT going to happen.

It's still worth dreaming and talking about because it exposes another hole in the * wall. Divide. Divide. Divide.

What part of that do people not understand?

Republicans are Republicans. Democrats are Democrats. Occasional a prominent member of one party will become a member instead of the other, but it's rare enough to be noteworthy.

People run for president as a member of a particular party.

McCain is a Republican. Kerry is going to be the nominee of the Democratic party. Every single other registered Democrat in the country stands a better chance of being on the ticket than McCain does.

McCain will not be on the ticket!

Why don't you sit back & enjoy McCain giving Bush & Rove nightmares.
