Last night we went out to eat...
It was for our anniversary, so it was a pretty nice place in downtown Minneapolis. There was a large table of about 10 people to our left, and a small table of 3 women to our right. We overheard conversations at BOTH tables bashing Bush* and lauding Kerry!

Granted, this is Minnesota. But then, we've had some scary Repuke victories here lately (Coleman, Pawlenty). But political table talk in restaurants is not typically something that is too common. Well, last night it was!

I've read so many stories on here of people who have overheard conversations like this, and now I can add mine to the list. Gives me even more hope and confidence for November.

GO KERRY!!!

7. Nye's Polonaise Room
I had been there in the Polka Room / Bar before, but never to eat at the restaurant. Man, the food was delicious. A bit pricey, but worth it.

Thanks to everyone for the congratulations!

3. TERRIFIC
sometimes you come across anti-chimp sentiment in the strangest places. I read other boards besides political ones (like for soap operas and other TV shows) and out of the blue I will come across someone saying how much they hate chimpy and how evil he is. The great thing is that just about every single response is in agreement, it is very rare to find anyone defending the pResident. :-)

11. His policies
are impossible to defend rationally, so they keep their mouth's shut, but their money is still going to the chimp. Blows my mind how businesses strong arm their employees to donate to the party. Disgusting.

14. They talk about Bush on soap opera boards?
Hey, maybe we can introduce Junior to Dr. Marlena Evans (shrink and psychotic serial killer)

4. I hear that stuff everyday here in Minnesota.
It's all common around my campus (after all, we're liberal arts).

My mom and dad live in Hickville, Minnesota, somewhere between Sauk Centre, Long Prairie, and Eagle Bend, and they're still "Bush Country" over there. I hope to see it change, though.

8. SAUK CENTRE?!?!?
Wow! I never thought I'd hear that placed mentioned. If I remember, that's exactly the place Sinclair Lewis satirized in his novels, like Babbit and Arrowsmith.

Wow!

10. I met with a bunch of small, drunken retired business owners
and automotive OEM parts buyers for our annual St. Patrick's Day political sparring. This year was an eye-opener. All but one of the old 'pukes are voting for Kerry. Their tool & die businesses are on the skids. One yellow-dog 'puke says he can't bring himself to vote for a democrat, so HE'S STAYING HOME!
