Norm Coleman has the NERVE to call Kerry a flip-flopper
Edited on Mon Mar-29-04 12:41 PM by northernsoul
his "99% improvement" comment aside, this may be the single most audacious thing Norm Coleman has said in public:

http://www.startribune.com/stories/587/4690651.html

<snip>

Hoping to help President Bush win a second term, Coleman has been telling reporters around the nation that Sen. John Kerry, the presumed Democratic presidential nominee, is a flip-flopper who's weak on defense.

Speaking to Florida reporters earlier this month, on the day before that state's primary, he said Kerry had changed his position on a security fence that Israel is building along the West Bank, first calling it a barrier to peace, then an act of self-defense. "What I've questioned with Senator Kerry is not his patriotism, but his judgment. ... People are looking for consistency," Coleman said in an interview last week.

Coleman's comments have not gone unnoticed by the Kerry campaign, which noted that his career has been no model of consistency, with Coleman supporting both Bill Clinton and George W. Bush -- first as a Democrat, then as a Republican

</snip>

I'm going to refrain from making any further comments about Mr. Coleman as I don't want the Secret Service to come knocking on my door anytime soon.

6. normally, I'd laugh
but right now the rank hypocrisy of The Teeth from Brooklyn has got madder than a nest of hornets.

I'll do some research on whether or not we can launch a Recall Coleman campaign yet.

Norm Coleman is a jerk.
His victory in 2002 was the one of that night that hurt me the second most. The most was Cleland's defeat.

2. He's doing lots of phone calls too - and posting on the RNC site

It's great to have documentation of his stance - all the better to use against him. I hope he continues to align with b*sh and has lots of pictures taken. All of that will be useful to unseat him.

Family Values question: Coleman is in DC or out and about the country much of the time - is his wife still in Hollywood seeking stardom? Their kids go to a private school in MN (90% sure of this) - who is parenting their kids?

edited to ask FV ?

5. I actually feel bad for the kids
I spent election day eve doing a Mondale lit drop with one of Norm's former babysitters and neighbors - her deep, personal disgust with Norm was very telling. I won't print details I don't know to be true, but those kids need our sympathy and compassion from what I've heard.

The Teeth from Brooklyn is running out of closet space for all of his skeletons.

7. nail on the head
he has done nothing. As FRESHMAN he is head of committees in a repuke controlled congress and he has only served as a boiler room telemarketer for Bush*. That shows how little political value he truly has. He had the world at his fingertips - white house muscle, purchased respect, and he has done nothing except say stoopid shit. He is the ultimate example of rising to the level of your incompetence. He's gone further than he is capable of handling and he doesn't have a personal Rove telling him what to say through an earpiece.

What a waste of human flesh.

9. as opposed to Coleman
running an "I hate Wellstone-he's practically an agent of Al-Queda" campign

then following Paul's death:

running a pretend "I'm so bereaved by the loss of our great senator" campaign

while:

allowing the GOP to run the "This was not a memorial to Paul Wellstone" distortion

then after elected:

calling himself a 99% improvement over a man whose shoes he was not fit to shine

Yes, Coleman, the model of consistancy

10. we need a response
Kerry's team must come up with a better way to deal with these flip-flop charges, whether they come from Bush or one of his cronies. Republicans are going to use Kerry's 20 year voting record in the Senate to come up with a flip-flop of the week. This will do real damage over the coming months unless a better strategy is devised to respond.
