The Passion of the Dean

Forsaken by his own tribe, Dean died in the primaries so that the Democratic party might live. Dean no doubt knew this speech would seal his fate, setting events in motion that would lead to his media crucifixion. It is the story of a revolutionary, betrayed by the very people he came to save. While his message gave hope to millions, his sacrifice was necessary to stir the spirit of a people.
...

...
Jesus of Nazareth caused a stir 2,000 years ago when he challenged the Jewish establishment as well as the corrupting influence of the Roman Empire on Judaism. The Gospels tell us that Jesus possessed the ability to heal the sick and once made one loaf of bread feed a hungry crowd. Dean did all of that, too.

Except in the New World and without supernatural powers or sandals…and the "miracles" were more like random acts of kindness...and his parents probably conceived him during sexual intercourse rather than immaculate conception...and he's not Jewish or even that religious...

....

In another show of grace under pressure, Dean is said to have turned a $20 bill into enough pizza to feed the entire campaign staff in Des Moines. Vicky Pearson, a volunteer from California, said it was a merciful display of compassion because they were "sooo starving after stuffing envelopes all night."

2. A little too much now, don't you think?
Is he not dead enough for you guys?

Oh, BTW don't forget to watch him on CNBC at 7:00 tonight.

That is really quite insulting to a good man. And it is insulting to young and older people who got excited about politics for the first time.

3. Defeat isn't enough? Now some folks have to humiliate him, too?
Dr. Dean is a good and decent man who made a difference. Without him, I'm not sure we would ever have found the 'spine' neccessary to take Bush on.

:wtf: did he ever DO to some people, that they still feel a need to villify him. :eyes:

7. We've got to beat Dubya. That means electing Kerry.

Then we still have to change the Democratic Party. I hope Dean will stick around and help change it. I hope that MeetUps and the Internet will help with that. I aim to be a part of that.

But I'm not holding my breath about a Dean resurrection on the third day. ;-)
