The Saudis wanted U.S. military bases out of the country vs. face uprising from fanatical Wahabis there. Iraq = real estate as the regime establishes long-term military bases there.

The UN Head of Military Intelligence has fought and won a series of media-cencored lawsuits against Bush 1, Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher and Tony Blair about upholding the Rule of Law as laid down in the UN Charter. Blair turned a blind eye when his chums in the IRA took the UN Head of Military Intelligence hostage in the summer of 2000. MoD gagging orders have wiped all mention and discussion of this.
