Bush lies about 911 costing 1 million jobs - he has no proof/estimate
that shows that number!

BUSH CAN'T PROVIDE PROOF TO SUPPORT HIS JOBS CLAIM

As President Bush tours the country touting his economic record, he is trying to shift the blame for the more than 2 million jobs that have been lost since he took office (1). Specifically, he has repeatedly claimed, "over a million jobs were lost because of the <9/11> attack" (2). But a new report shows that there are no statistics to support this assertion, and that the White House itself cannot provide any evidence that this is the case.

According to the Bureau of National Affairs, "White House officials were unable to point to any specific information that supports a direct link between massive job losses and the attacks" (3). While one White House spokeswoman claimed that the President's statements were "supported by the Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS)," that agency's associate commissioner "said BLS has not compiled any specific study on jobs which were lost specifically because of the Sept. 11 attacks."

4. True
This is the guy who used the word "accountability" roughly as much as he used "the." So where's the accountability? "It's not MY fault 1 million jobs were lost due to 9/11, though I just made that number up, and I was asleep at the wheel on 9/11, and it's becoming more obvious I knew all about 9/11 and let it happen." Sheesh.

7. There was much economic disruption
because, as I understand it, lotsa communications went THROUGH the WTC. So, it did depress the economy, because there was less activity for awhile. But, no reason to cause any permanent loss of jobs.

In other words (and this is a shocker!) Bush is lying!

9. So May to Sept 1 a million lost jobs because of the bad winter?
If I trend line May to Sept, I get 924 over 4 months = 231 per month

Oct to Nov and Nov to Dec are right about on the prior curve.

And Sept to October's 572000 is 341000 over the average.

PERHAPS WE CAN AGREE THAT 341,000 LOST THEIR JOBS BECAUSE OF 911?

10. that sounds like a reasonable number
nowhere near what the Idiot Son of an Asshole claims.

And even if he was right, it would still be his fault BECAUSE 9/11 IS HIS FUCKING FAULT. BUSH IS TO BLAME FOR 9/11

11. I think he's adding up the three months after 9/11 to get one million.
However, that's flawed because we were in a recession at the time and job losses had been accelerating before 9/11 so many of those would have happened anyway.
