Subject: Some Clark News

This was in yesterday's Arkansas newspaper:

Clark to lead board for City Year LR

Former presidential hopeful and retired U.S. Army Gen. Wesley Clark
was named chairman of the board for City Year Little Rock, officials
with the national service program announced Thursday.

This fall, Little Rock will become the 15th city to host the service
program for young adults. The program will have about 40 workers in
central Arkansas.

Clark, who lives in Little Rock, was introduced to City Year by
visiting the organization in Boston, said City Year Little Rock
Executive Director Kadi Tierney. Clark was keynote speaker at City
Year's national convention last year.

"Given his commitment to public service, this just made perfect
sense," Tierney said. "He's a guy who understands a lifetime of
public service and a real role model for corps members."

Clark served from 1997 to 2000 as supreme allied commander of NATO.
In February, he dropped his bid for the Democratic presidential
nomination.

1. Sorry but what the hell for?
At this time, I want Wes Clark saving the country from disgrace and disaster, not hyping Little Rock. I hope it's just a symbolic position and doesn't take up any of his precious time. We need it all!

2. Yeah, I'm a little worried about this, too...
Hope it doesn't mean anything in terms of possible VP selection....

4. I wouldn't worry, Gloria
Wes is committed to youth in national service. He's been speaking to young people in colleges and high schools as much as he can fit in with his crowded schedule. It's very important to him, but I can't imagine he would do anything that interfered with his primary commitment to get Bushco out and Kerry in.
