50,996,116
That's the number of people who voted agianst chimpy. If any aides to Sen.Kerry's campaign monitor this board, this fact must be recited over and over again. As the raunchy right tries to portray the Democrats as out of touch with mainstream America, this fact completely debunks this.

When those righties yak about how they represent most of Americas values, they must constantly be reminded that:50,996,116 people voted agianst their alleged values, considerabally more than voted for them.

4. Even worse, the 50% who DIDN'T EVEN VOTE in 2000
Almost half the eligible voting population didn't even show up at the polls in 2000. So basically Shrub got 20% of the eligible voting populace to vote for him.

That leaves 80% who either voted for somebody else, or who didn't bother voting because they didn't feel their vote mattered.

We should think about those numbers, and then work to get those non-voters to show up and VOTE for our guy. If we even get a tenth of the non-voters, we'll win with room to spare-- no theft by crooked FL politicians will stop it.

3. And remember
All we heard all year in 2000 was how the country had "Clinton fatigue" and how "Al was a liar" and how big a landslide this unelected drunk was going to have.

Blacks were going to desert the Democrats to vote for AWOL; Jews were going to desert the Democrats to vote for AWOL; Hispanics were going to desert the Democrats to vote for AWOL; veterans were going to desert the Democrats to vote for AWOL; union members were going to desert the Democrats to vote for AWOL; women were going to desert the Democrats to vote for AWOL; environmentalists were going to desert the Democrats to vote for AWOL; and yadda yadda yadda...that was all we heard in 2000.

You'll notice that this time around the Chimp is desperately trying to hang on to crabby white guys...he isn't even trying to expand his base in any way yet....and he'll have a tough time doing so, given his dreary incompetence, corruption, and just plain craziness...I mean, the guy has managed to fuck up his own bus tour...

Are you better off than you were four years ago? Are you better off than you were two years ago? Hell, are you better off than you were last week?

8. Is Bush Leaning On A French Flag on that bus?
Some of his staff have been playing jokes on him. With the psychedelic tie at the press conference, etc.

5. one other error
that is simply the number being reported. Nothing was more transparent than the tremendous fraud taking place and MANY MANY MANY legitimate votes for Gore were uncounted while MANY MANY MANY fraudulent votes for Bush were gladly counted. But that number sounds like a great reminder of who really won last time.

7. In light of this
Edited on Wed May-05-04 07:53 PM by Exgeneral
wouldn't it make sense to play to the progressives, who outnumber the swing vote by something like 3:1?

Instead of pissing them off?
