Good for Richard Morrison.....I take back what I said.
http://www.richardmorrisonfordistrict22.com/
Today's story in The Hill attempts to create a controversy by implying that I do not welcome the support of Howard Dean and other strong Democrats. This is not the case.

I was proud to introduce Howard Dean to over 2,000 Houstonians in October, and will be proud to welcome him back any time.

In the future, I believe people will look back on Governor Dean and thank him for reviving the Democratic Party."

Kudos to him, and now he can keep my donation.

1. I'm glad
I've raised money for him through Wes Clark Democrats and I was regretting it last night. Well, that's that!

6. Let's not be so quick to jump on other Dems without getting the facts.
We need unity more than anything this year, without looking for slights, disses, and reasons for Dems to not get our "precious" votes and money.

7. I donated to him as a Dean supporter.
Thus I have a right to ask him not to "dis". If I had not donated, I would not have that right. I stand by that right, and I will not back down.

I will vote for Kerry, and we donated to him. However, if I disagree with him, I will say so. Disagreement is not dissing.

And yes, our donations and votes are "precious." Very much so. That is why we must ask our candidates to speak out. Morrison did, I commended him, and I apologized. I don't know what else I can do?

19. What state do you live in, and why did you accuse her of lying
about conditions in her local?

8. You're right
and I'm not trying to turn this into a Deaniac vs. anyone thread. I do think that MadFL has the right to ask for his donation back if the recipient snubs Dean. We all have to get behind Kerry now.

9. There just seems to be a hair trigger eagerness to jump off the bandwagon.
Look at the board:

Harrumph! Well that's it. I'm not giving money to Kerry becuase...or I'm not going to work for Kerry becuase...or if he names so and so as VEEP, that's it!

Geez. Eyes on the prize.

10. I am on the bandwagon, I just reserve my rights to question.
I will always do that. I will withhold donating to people who are not standing up for things. There is nothing wrong with that. People say we are causing trouble here. Not true. That is not my purpose.

15. I'm glad you, or to be more precise the Hill, was wrong about Morrison
Because a lily-livered, weak-kneed Democrat wouldn't have a chance at defeating the Exterminator.

I admired the way he responded so quickly with an update and a pic of him introducing Dean in Houston. It left no doubt, and I appreciated it.

18. Thank you for kicking my apology to Morrison.
For some reason I am still being fussed at about it elsewhere.

I am glad he posted a quick response, and I admire him for it. However, from the DFA blog.. it appears his media person is to blame for the miscommunication.

I do not apology for getting upset in the first place. I apologize because the wrong info was given out.

26. A great update on this. I am proud of this Morrison guy and his staff.
http://www.richardmorrisonfordistrict22.com/blog/comments.php?id=23_0_1_0_C

SNIP..."Many people are visiting the site to share their feelings about the recent article at Washington website The Hill. Please use this post for commenting, so that your thoughts do not get lost at the post about the Amy Goodman event.

Although he is travelling, Mr. Morrison called first thing this morning upon seeing the article so that I could update the website with his response, here on the front page. It is very important to him that everyone who visits this site understands the enormous and genuine respect that Texas Democrats (including Richard Morrison) have for Dr. Dean.

It is also important to all of us working on the Morrison Campaign -- many of whom were active in the Dean for Texas campaign, and are now active in the Democracy for Texas effort. Dr. Dean's support is absolutely welcomed, which the Hill story did not even attempt to convey...."More at the link.

27. I am proud of Morrison too
I made a contribution at his site, and will make more in hopes he pulls the big upset of this election and defeats Delay.

DLC is more than a little bit nervous about Dean helping out in this race.

You'd think they'd be happy to see someone pitching in to strike out Delay, but you'd think wrong, wouldn't you?
