Military Service for Dummies

John Kerry volunteered to go to a war zone. He was shot at and hit. He killed people in battle. He saved the lives of his fellow servicemembers. His gallantry and heroism are well documented. He did not like what he saw and came home to tell others he did not like what he saw. Perspective is Priceless.

george bush did everything he possibly could to avoid going to Vietnam and he succeeded. He wasted a million taxpayer dollars learning how to fly a jet. He abused drugs and alcohol and knowingly avoided a mandatory drug test. He deserted his military unit and showed total disdain and lack of concern for his fellow unit members, certainly no team player. He is trying to discredit the service of the gentleman described above to get reselected.

WOULD SOME LURKER PLEASE JUMP IN AND EXPLAIN TO THIS VET WHY THE SECOND GUY DESCRIBED IS YOUR HERO? I THINK YOU ARE COWARDLY MORONS FOR THINKING BUSH IS A MAN OF HONOR AND INTEGRITY; BUT I DON'T HAVE YOU LOOKING BACK AT ME WHEN I LOOK IN THE MIRROR. It really is quite confusing since you all are independent thinkers, right?

GW and his cronies have no qualms about avoiding service and no qualms about sending others to fight their wars. You can't defend that.

I'm a vet, and my husband is a VN vet, both of us were 20+ career officers, and neither of us understands it either.

You might want to go over to military.com and post that tho. The message boards there have been overrun by wingnuts, but maybe you'll get some sort of rational answer.

I wouldn't hold my breath tho.
