Why do the Rasmussen polls make more sense than others?
Edited on Fri May-07-04 04:56 PM by fujiyama
I thought Rasmussen polls are supposed to be extremely republican friendly, but many of their polls show Kerry with a lead. They seem to be most friendly to Kerry.

Now, I'm not saying the numbers make sense just because they show Kerry ahead, but they seem to be more realistic in many states -- showing kerry head by 11 in NJ, compared to just 6 points in some other poll.

Whether they are using robo dialers and whether that's a bad thing, I don't know, but I'm not buying numbers that show NJ to be a "tight" race. This is a state that Gore won by 16 points. Same with some Badger poll showing Bush ahead by 12 in WI. Now I know they don't include Nader in their polls...so that might be part of the reason, Kerry's numbers are a bit higher...

Rasmussen's numbers were apparently way off in '00, but they seem more in line with electoral trends than other polls.

1. They are, and that's what's horrific to the right. Previously, Rasmussen,
...and his results were Gospel to the right. Now, of all things, they're calling Gallup (which currently has both in a dead heat) and any other poll de jour that'll have Bush "up" (alway within the margin of error), that'll be their latest "I only trust" polling source.

Anyway, Scott Rasmussen is definitely in Bush's camp. I heard him on Sean Hannity, 2 months ago, saying how Kerry is going to lose to Bush. Not "how" he could or might lose, mind you.

All else fails for the right, they'll just say "it's too early." Though they should always keep in mind, that due to 9/11, this President has had more exposure during his first term, than any other. They should also keep in mind that we're actively engaged in a serious conflict in Iraq (more dead after the "war," than during), and whereas history shows us rallying around our President during similiar situations. Right now, 1/2 the country can't stand this bozo!

3. There are a number of other polls that seem
To run close to Rasmussen, like American Research, the latest polls showing Kerry at 47 percen and BUsh at 44 percent.
