Wes Clark democratic Radio Response
Does anyone know if Wes Clark's democratic radio response to Monkey boys weekly address will be televised or if a feed can be picked up via internet?

1. CNN Radio only, from what I've heard
On-line feeds at http://www.wespac2004.com or http://www.cnnradionet.com/PUBLIC/Home/default.htm

Better hurry--starts in 10 minutes, I think.

10. Reuters writeup
"The abuse of Iraqi prisoners by U.S. troops has led to a loss of credibility that undermines an already troubled U.S. military mission, retired Gen. Wesley Clark said in the Democratic weekly radio address on Saturday.

``Apologies are not enough,'' the former Democratic presidential candidate said. ``These criminal acts of abuse must be investigated fully and those responsible held accountable under law.''

...

``This is a mission in trouble.'' Clark also pressed the Bush administration to move immediately in getting needed military equipment, such as armored vests and vehicles, into Iraq.

He said the lack of protective gear may have cost 200 American lives. ``This is inexcusable.'' ``The truth is President Bush made mistake after mistake as commander in chief, taking us into a war we didn't have to wage, alone and under false pretenses and is now managing it poorly,'' Clark said.

for the voice of sanity in the midst of all this chaos.

I just downloaded it and listened. You could tell he was both hurt and angry at what these thugs have done in the name of the United States.

Yet, despite his ringing indictment of their actions, he was still very much supportive of the military and the work they've been made to do by the Bush Administration. While Wes certainly thought this was the wrong war at the wrong time, he still wants the military to do properly the job they were told to do and do it with as few lives lost.

Finally, he placed the blame of what happened at Abu Ghraib and the lives of 200 American soldiers lost to lack of proper equipment squarely where it belongs - on the soldiers of the Bush Administration.

Brave Wes! (On edit: hahahahaha, I wrote "Brave Wes" instead of "Bravo Wes," but I'm gonna leave it that way because it is also true! :) )

17. Sign the Petition
Call on the White House to increase troop protection in Iraq and Afghanistan

Sign the petition

To: President George W. Bush and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld

As Americans, we all stand united with respect and admiration for our men and women in uniform. But after recent reports from the frontlines in Iraq and Afghanistan, we are concerned that our troops are not receiving the kind of unconditional support they deserve.

We call on you to immediately provide maximum protection for our troops under fire in Iraq and Afghanistan, and to end any delays in maximizing their personal safety as they put their lives on the line, every day, for us.

Specifically:

We call on you to provide an immediate status report to Congress and the American people, detailing the most significant types of threats to the personal safety of our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the actions that must be taken to immediately mitigate these kinds of dangers, including providing armored vehicles, personal protective gear, medical care, or any other remedy.

We then call on you to provide an emergency appropriation request to Congress for any and all funds necessary to provide our troops with every form of protection for their safety, as identified in the status report.

We believe that every American, presented with a comprehensive status report and call for action, will stand behind our men and women in uniform, in a spirit of patriotism and shared sacrifice, and will support any immediate and extraordinary measures to identify and eliminate any threat to their personal safety that can be promptly remedied through bipartisan executive and legislative action.

He was wonderful, as usual.

He is the obvious solution to the mess we find ourselves in.

23. All I can say is...
Wow. What a class act and a great American. It made me pretty depressed about him not being the nominee, I can only hope he gets VP now. I hope this will shut up those who say Clark is a Republican once and for all.
