RUMSFELD MUST BE FIRED
I literally can't take the news anymore. I feel almost idiotic for truly believing that this was just "six morons" who got out of control. How can we act so callously to these poor people who lived under some of the most horrible conditions imaginable? How can Rumsfeld or anyone else in the Pentagon even look themselves in the mirror any more? Raping little kids! Murdering prisoners! This is absolutely insane and I really am having a hard time trusting any one in government now. I almost wish I was part of the other 50% who didn't care because life would just be so much easier.

1. Fired Yes
I think he should be and I also think he should just resign. he's no longer capable of doing his job. Just like the rest of that administration. It's criminal.

2. It's horrific, yes.
And make no mistake, they will trace this all the way to the top. To Rumsfeld. He can't survive this crisis. Because they haven't released everything yet. As if it could possibly get worse.

You're right -- this is really hard to take. I take consolation that Rummy will be out on his ass by Monday morning as I drive off to work at the office.

9. I think that's why he won't go.
Rummy doesn't seem to be the kind that would take one for the team and his ego would never let him quit. He is probably holding them hostage on a boat load of dirt.

My guess is that rummy and bush saw those pictures a while back and were just yucking it up over them.

10. I agree that the only reason
Rummy wouldn't go is that he could bring the whole ship crashing down with what he likely knows. Still though, the Bushes have enough money to buy his silence if he did step down.

11. Good point.
I sometimes wonder if Bush Senior is really running the show. It appears to be his team and his agenda. It is also interesting how Bush Jr goes out of his away to deny having any conversations with his father.

4. Rummy needs to be fired
Bush should really fire Rummy. However, this would be the right thing to do and so it will not happen.

5. Fired hell I want him and the entire Bushco Nazi occupation
force in the government right down to every repug and dem senator who encouraged this less than 18 months ago. When they started taking people in Afghanistan and sending them to Gitmo and to Syria and Israel to torture them the outrage started but was put down with the phrase "torture is an acceptable tactic to be used against terrorist". Everyone in the repug leadership and Zell and Lieberwantabeaman used this phrase. They OKed it then and now are pretending to be outraged. I can't accept that much hypocrisy.

12. Bush will never fire Rummy because of a few "republican torture pranks."
However, Bush will fire Rummy when Rummy starts hurting Bush in the polls. I don't know whether the full story of the Bush rape rooms and torture chambers will be enough, however, I do think that is just a matter of time. Someone who is as dishonest, corrupt, and evil as Rumsfeld is who is working for someone as dishonest, corrupt, and evil as Bush is will not be able to suppress those traits. Between now and the election, more and more voters will be disgusted or fed up with something else Rummy does or says. For different people, different things will be the final straw and they will add up. At that point, keeping Rummy will help Bush only with the Night of the Broken Glass republicans and Bush will always have their vote. And then Bush will fire Runmmy.

Off topic: Oxydittos! to Rush for the phrase "republican torture pranks."
