Dennis Kucinich has several petitions on his campaign site (www.kucinich.us) dealing with several key issues, including Iraq. These petitions are being circulated among Democrats around the country, and signed by those who agree with their progressive stances on the issues.
We may have "broke" Iraq, but that doesn't mean we're qualified to fix it. If a busdriver hit your car, would you take it to him to be repaired? Of course not! You'd take it to a mechanic, or to the body shop, who would be much better at fixing your car than the busdriver.
The same goes with the military occupation of Iraq. These are not "peacekeepers", they are warriors trained to fight a war. We're simply using the wrong tool for the job.
Get our soldiers and marines out of Iraq, and send in peacekeepers under a UN mandate. Get ALL US interest out of their rebuilding and economy, and let the people of Iraq choose who they want to rebuild their country. Of course, the US should be prepared to pay for the costs of everything they destroyed-- since we "broke it", we're still liable for paying for it.
