Kerry's medals: Freeper puke piece of the day
A chickenhawk smears Kerry's medals. Can't wait until this election is over and we get the crazies out of government.

The Newsroom Iconoclast
The incredible shrinking medals of Lt. John Kerry
Sunday, May 9, 2004

I once was impressed by John Kerry's war record, but no more. For one thing, I'm puzzled he served in Vietnam just four months. Did he fight simply to decorate his resume? By most accounts, he already was planning to be the next president from Massachusetts with the initials JFK. So why would he join a war that he opposed, unless it was to earn political credibility?

Then there's his first Purple Heart, the one he earned on Dec. 2, 1968, near Cam Ranh Bay. The more you learn about it, the more you snicker. According to a report by Byron York at the National Review, the doctor who treated Kerry — Louis Letson — is now living in Alabama and has written down his recollections of the event.

Kerry sought medical care for an arm wound, attributing it to a firefight. Letson writes: "What I saw was a small piece of metal sticking very superficially in the skin of Kerry's arm. The metal fragment measured about 1 centimeter in length and was about 2 or 3 millimeters in diameter."

So, "I simply removed the piece of metal by lifting it out of the skin with forceps. … It did not require probing to find it, did not require any anesthesia to remove it, and did not require any sutures to close the wound." Letson concluded: "The wound was covered with a Band-Aid."

A Purple Heart for a Band-Aid? Sounds like a Purple Hoax to me. ...

1. The Star Newspaper, where that writer works.....
is located in Tinley Illinois, a town I never heard of. So we have an unknown writer for an unknown newspaper in an un known town writing about something that is total unknown to him....combat. OoooooH...scary.

3. Yeah but it's my hometown and my local paper. And people
actually write into this rag and rah-rah for this loser. One little moron in one little town may not sway many voters. But if you have hundreds of little morons in hundreds of little towns across the country ... this race could be decided by three electoral votes. That's the lesson to be learned from the last election. We have to fight it out with the pugs on the most basic level.

2. How many times are we going to have to go over this...
"As evidence that Kerry was wounded, campaign spokesman Michael Meehan showed The Associated Press a "Sick Call Treatment Record" from Kerry's personal files that included a brief written note dated December 3, 1968, and stamped from the naval support facility at Cam Ranh Bay.

"Shrapnel in left arm above elbow. Shrapnel removed and appl bacitracin dressing. Ret to Duty," it said. The note is followed by a signature that appears to say "JCCarreon" and some illegible letters that Meehan said probably designate the medical official's rank."

Maybe Bush's dental appointment wasn't that serious - but he wasn't awarded a purple heart for anything.

5. My Letter to Mr. Bowers
Dear Mr. Bowers,

Since your favorite politicians have no military record or accomplishment to speak of, other than where George W. Bush was in 1972, or how Dick "I had other priorties" Cheney managed to get 5 draft deferments, you have to stoop to attacking a man who served his country with honor and distinction.

Like the rest of the chickenhawk puke brigade, you never saw combat, but question the record of a man who did. Then you try to negate the awards he received for his gallantry and valor under fire, for the fact that he told the truth about an unjust and immoral war once he got home. Why don't you ask the Vietnamese about American attrocities, we only killed 2 million of their people.

And in the end, here's the truth of it. George W. Bush got to skip out on the war because of his daddy's political connections. John Kerry volunteered and still has shrapnel in his leg from fighting for his country. Yet you have the sand to call George W. Bush a leader. Well, I guess he is a heroic figure for lapel pin patriots like yourself.

When you, or Messrs. Bush and Cheney, have four purple hearts from being wounded in the service of your country, feel free to criticize Senator Kerry's military credentials. Until then, you're just another chirping chicken hawk, nipping at the heels of a real hero.

With absolutely no respect for you,

6. Jessica Lynch - 2 week hero
Jessica Lynch served for approx. 2 weeks in Iraq and was not even in a bonafide battle. She is now a hero.

And yet these idiots claim that Kerry isn't?

FORMER GREEN BERET TACKLES KERRY AGAIN!

Thank you, John Kerry, for helping make us Vietnam veterans war heroes now, but you also were the primary reason that the American public grabbed sturdy unbending brooms of judgment and swept us into the closet of silence and shame for so many years. Now, with your latest unreported insanity, you are getting ready for our society to grab those same stiff brooms and sweep our brave, noble young men and women fighting against the War on Terror in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere, into that cold, dark cell of heartbreak and betrayal, like we Vietnam veterans had to endure in silent dignity. I cannot and will not watch this country go through that again.

The hardcore America-hating, Israel-hating, jihad-spouting Muslim clerics in the mideast are very excited and passing around a front page newspaper story from the very anti-American TEHRAN TIMES in Iran. In the country that is home of the world's toughest theocratic dictatorship, an e-mail from Democratic Presidential nominee, you, John Forbes Kerry, sent to the paper by your campaign committee, although they deny sending it, was printed word-for-word on the front page of Iran's main newspaper. Your message states emphatically that, if elected President, you, John Kerry plan to, within 100 days, not only end the War on Terror, but travel to the mideast and elsewhere and apologize for our actions and the actions of President Bush in the War on Terror. It says that you plan to apologize to friends and foes alike. That is right, folks. John Kerry will say he is sorry, and in his mind, all those jihad extremists, who have vowed to kill all Americans wherever we are, will simply forgive us, hold hands with Kerry, start singing "Kumbaya," and all will be right in the world. This is insane!

Senior writer Kenneth R. Timmerman in the March 1st edition of INSIGHT, tells about the massive campaign contributions to the Kerry-for-President campaign by three Iranian businessmen living in the US, who are lobbying for the US lifting of sanctions on Iran and accepting the anti-Christian, anti-Jewish, anti-American Tehran regime and the close ties of one to the chairman of Mobil Oil.

Pro-democracy dissidents in Iran are shocked and appalled at your remarks, and have reported that in Iran and other Mideastern countries, that all the extremists and anti-west mullahs who strongly supported the attacks on the World Trade Center, Pentagon, USS Cole, Marine Barracks, and anyplace Americans congregate, want you to become our President, but they are scared to death of George W. Bush. Just think, The Democratic candidate for President, you, John Forbes Kerry, is endorsed by the Al Q'Aida, Hezbollah, PLF, and Hamas.

But on February 27, 2004, in a speech at UCLA , you, while trying to talk tough, despite voting against all major weapons systems for the past 18 years, stated that you will continue the War on Terror, but would use our police forces, and especially those in foreign countries, and you would also put our troops back under the powder blue flag of the United Nations. You recently made comments about Bush making troops fight without Kevlar vests, but you, Senator Kerry, voted against buying them while you were in the Senate.

Like the Kama Sutra, Senator, you change positions constantly. You're not going to end the War on Terror, but instead use police to handcuff terrorists and read them their rights; then a week later, you are going to end the War on Terrorism and apologize to everyone we have offended, such as Iran. What is it going be next week, Kerry? You flip-flop more than a beached tuna on steroids.

You convinced TV reporters Chris Wallace on Fox and NBC's Tim Russert that a photograph circulating the web and news showing you a few rows away from Jane Fonda at a September, 1970 Anti-War Rally at Valley Forge, was simply a coincidence and that you and Hanoi Jane barely knew each other. But, in fact, Senator, there were only 8 speakers that day, including Fonda, Donald Southerland, and Bella Abzug, and Hanoi Jane funded that rally, and the keynote speaker was you, John Forbes Kerry, executive committee member of Vietnam Veterans Against the War.

We must be Americans first, and think about our political parties after that. Sometimes we lose sight of that. I have six grown children and two are democrats. I voted for Jimmy Carter. This is not about politics. It is about standing up to the ultimate playground bully, and not simply cowering and kissing his shoes.

I left it "all on the field" in the jungles back there when I was medevaced out of Vietnam in March of 1969 and sent back to hospitals in "The World." Although You, Mr. Kerry, painted all of us Vietnam veterans with the yellow brush of My Lai and Tiger Force, most of us, draftees and lifers alike, actually poured our hearts out in the tropical rain forests and in the rice paddies, thoroughly gave it our all, and acted as warriors who had honor. I have a son earning his green beret at Fort Bragg right now and a daughter-in-law on orders for Iraq. I am not going to stand by and watch them go through the same treatment we did, because some of our well-meaning fellow Americans choose to wear blinders and believe things just because they heard it on the network news or simply not care enough to get involved.

I am not a "baby-killer, torturer, or murderer," John Kerry. I am a Vietnam veteran and an American who will not soon forget, or ever want to see again, any more jets loaded with fuel and screaming, innocent Americans slamming into our buildings on our very own soil. I have shed enough tears for ten lifetimes. We all have. I will never again let my fellow countrymen get away with making American veterans feel like bastard step-children.

Santayana said, "Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it."

John Kerry, I now call on my "Band of Brothers," those who have heard the sound of guns and cries of orphaned children, those who hate war more than anyone who has not been there, to join me in this difficult battle ahead. Republicans, democrats, independents, and the apolitical, I call on the 25,000,000 veterans of this country to help me confront this evil facing our great nation, not with guns and bombs, but with our voices, our votes, our computers, and with all our fighting spirit.

My fellow veterans, your families, survivors, and neighbors: God bless you and God bless America.

MY RESPONSE:

Debby I see that you must be interested in the best interest of our country so here are some sites you can go to get a different point of view about John Kerry than from this ex Green Beret's opinion. If you're like me and Willis we always do our own investigation on matters than just believing other people's opinion or what they tell us to believe. For every 1 opinion that you can give us on an subject, we could give you 1,000 with a different point of view. As far as John Kerry's military record compared to George Bush it is obvious who went to Vietnam and who didn't and who was a decorated war hero and who wasn't and who but their life on the line in combat duty and who didn't and who can produce all of their military records with proof of where they were during their time in service and who can't and who came back from Vietnam and fought like hell to get our soldiers out of the mess over in Vietnam and spoke the truth about what was going on over there (some people do not what to hear or know the truth) And you know, Jane Fonda spend more time in Vietnam than George Bush did. I don't know this ex Green Beret but I do know my husband and Willis went to Vietnam (Army 1967 - 1968 around the same time John Kerry was there) and he said he witnessed the things John Kerry said happened over there. It is terrible what our service men and women had to go through in Vietnam. The leaders of our country at the time, should have been punished for what they did to them and for all of the lives that were lost and we do not want to see our soldiers of today go through the same terrible experience. Thank God our son is not over in Iraq now, he was there in 1992. We understood why we went to war in 1992 since Suddan Hussian invaded another country (now we have done the same thing in Iraq). We understood why we went into Afganistan since it was a proven fact that Binladin was behind 9/11 and him and his followers were there and training to do more harm to us. But we do not understand why we went into Iraq without UN approval and no proof that Hussian had anything to do with 9/11 or proof that he had WMD (even though the current administration told us there was proof). It makes a person wonder just why we are in Iraq now. Was it to get Hussian out of power since he was a bad man and treated his people badly? If so, will we send our soldiers into other countries to get rid of all the bad leaders? Or are we into nation building? Or maybe we went into to Iraq for the oil after all there are alot of rich oil people in charge of our country now. It really makes a person wonder just what is going on in our country now. Willis and I try hard to be open minded and not let others do our thinking for us and we are sure you're like this too, so if you need any investigating on an issue or would like a difference of opinion just let us know and we'll try to help.
Have a nice evening.
