"Bush is toast. Let him hang himself."
How many times have we said that here?

How many times has it actually been the case?

Kerry needs to be on Bush over Abu Ghraib like flies on shit, 24/7.

1. Mr. Bush, tear down this torture chamber
Burn down the rape rooms.

That's what he should say.

2. Kerry has a petition against Rumsfeld on his site with over 250,000 sigs.
Kerry has been stressing accountability for Bush as commander-in-chief.

He said "Truman never said the buck stops at the Pentagon."

He said "I will always know what is going on in my command."

Kerry has the inside channels with the military brass and I have no doubt they are keeping him informed and will provide him with EXACTLY the info he needs.

Remember who the military brass went to with the Tora Bora information?

3. Not sure I agree..but I am also not sure I disagree
I think Kerry needs to be on Bush but in a more general fashion about the secrecy of his administration that sits on stuff like this and does nothing...he also needs to be on this admin for their complete dismissal of congress and senate..Ron Brownstein had a good article in the LA Times this AM about how the Abu Ghraib scandal personifies everything that is wrong about the Bush admin...BUT...if Kerry is seen as acting pretentious about this it will only serve to harden the heels of conservative partisans.

Right now there is a bit of a groundswell of Republican upset over this situation..I'd like to see how that develops...I think Kerry would be smarter to demonstrate that this is one more of numerous fuck ups by this inept, secretive, dishonest admin

5. however it happens, just as long as it does.
I think it definitely needs to be part of a general attack strategy, but if he can't talk about the human rights abuses and the war itself directly, I'm afraid they're just going to weasel right out from underneath yet another fuckup.

if Kerry is seen as acting pretentious about this it will only serve to harden the heels of conservative partisans.

Sure, but as a campaign issue, who would this be aimed at? You *know* that if this had happened on Clinton's watch, those same partisans would be right up his ass. We need to talk to the rest of America, don't we?

To be honest, I don't remember seeing that on DU very many times.

Can you name some times when you heard this said on DU?

7. by the way,
you never got back to me on whether or not Kerry was, in fact, calling for higher standards for teachers. We can talk about that if you'd rather.

I wonder if the premise of this thread (ie. that people on DU say "Bush is toast. let him hang himself") is accurate. Since you can only find one, and I can only remember one more, I assume the premise is not accurate.

you never got back to me on whether or not Kerry was, in fact, calling for higher standards for teachers.

I have a life. And if I remember correctly, Kerry is asking for higher standards for teacher's accreditation. Aside from that, I dont remember Kerry calling for anything in the way of standards for teachers. I'm sorry if you're still confused about that.

13. assume as you wish.
Since you can only find one, and I can only remember one more, I assume the premise is not accurate.

I suppose it's a good thing, then, that I've long since given up on the idea of having a serious conversation with you. :)

Aside from that, I dont remember Kerry calling for anything in the way of standards for teachers.

Here's the thread if you'd like to peruse it again.

9. Bush is Toast...He's scrambling like a freakin fool
trying to act like he has made no mistakes..ridin the Big Bus..being all furious about the torture thing..WELL

Mr John Kerry is doing exactly what he should be doing..He's got his grassroots campaign going where it needs to go, collecting cash, and sigs. Kerry won't be given fair media time anyway so let Bush have at it.
A new scandal every couple of weeks, and Kerry doesn't need to spend his money trying to expose the little nazi by himself. Let the media show what a total failure Bush is.
Meanwhile Kerry flies just under the radar, and as george goes scrambling around looking for another excuse for what he is (or isn't.)

I will bet Kerry is a master chess player..meanwhile george is still trying to figure out how many colors there are on a checker board.

Kerry will win this election, and with the power of the presidency in his hands, gw bush will indeed be toast!
