3. JK exposed more government corruption than any lawmaker in modern history.
Thanks to Kerry's persistence in BCCI, IranContra and CIA drugrunning, more of us know about the BFEE today.

4. Kerry is the Real Deal on Healthcare issues, a national healthcare policy
that really works.

The Real Deal tagline is the best and it conjures images of FDR and Truman.

Good stuff.

15. Some random things...
First, there's the mystical: I think that Kerry's destined to be the president this time around. It's as though his whole life was preparation not just for the presidency, but to inherit this particular mess. It's like a well formed novel, having a young man, who did the rather unusual thing of going to fight a war when he didn't have to and then coming back and being a very public opponent of that war. Thirty years later and it's his time to run for president and there's this similar war in fast forward and with sand instead of mud. He was getting hammered about his honest statements about war crimes and then this horrible story broke about present day war crimes. There is not a doubt in my mind that the reason that my first choice, Clark, didn't take the nomination, and the favorite of many others, Dean also didn't prevail, is because Kerry's karma is all mixed up with this election. I think it's all kind of eerie in a fascinating way.

Then there's the cultural: Another other reason I love Kerry is that during the Vietnam war, along side the protests about the war in particular, the longterm political and cultural divide developed and we've been in struggle with the other side ever since. If Kerry wins, that means we won in the end.

Also the socio-economic: He knows that most people in homeless shelters have jobs. Knowing this is to know a lot about the problems in nation at this time.

There are a lot more, but those are some of the my favorites.

19. I love your post, union_maid. Second it!
John Forbes Kerry: "his time is now." To borrow the wonderful headline the Des Moines Register used when it endorsed John Edwards.

I think Kerry is ready to be President, prepared the govern, equipped to address the calamities, to clean up the mess that was George W. Bush's "presidency".

and he made choices that a privileged Yale grad didn't have to make. He could have taken the easy route and become another Chimp.

23. I'd share a foxhole with him...
OK, don't infer any sexual inuendo from that remark, please. What I mean is, Prince Bozo and his merrie band have put us in a world of very real danger now, , and Kerry strikes me as the kind of very tough and very smart customer who can deal with all the problems he will inherit. Yeah, I wish he'd never signed off on that damn war powers resolution, but I believe his rational for it was sincere. He's miles better than the turds in residence on social, fiscal and environmental issues...and remember, he had the balls once before to turn against an unjust war and do what he could to stop it.
Of course, I would also be happy to share a foxhole with Vice President Wesley Clark. And you may infer sexual inuendo from that remark.

Kerry isn't my ideal candidate, but I get that feeling from him. If it were like that, I would trust the guy to get my back.

24. He's not afraid to speak out
when he sees something unjust. He doesn't back down.

He's articulate, and will nail Bush to the wall in debates.

With him, we can repair ties with our former allies. With Bush, there is NO chance of this.

Most importantly, he has a good chance of winning and rescuing the world from premature destruction. This victory in November will send a strong signal that the people won't stand for a wholesale takeover by a one-sided ideological racket feeding them lies.

28. I like John Kerry...
... because he actually said, on the record, for attribution, no screwing-around, that Bush fucked it up... in those words.

You gotta admire that kind of candor these days.

Clearly, Kerry thinks issues through. I have read interviews with him that all make the same conclusion.

31. Kerry is great! I really wish I could meet him.
I really like John Kerry. He feels so calm and comfortable and has the leadership and skills to lead this country in the right direction. I'm so proud I've supported JK in the primary (along with others I "flip flopped" with. We don't agree on every issue but he is going to make an excellent president and return America on the path to greatness it has wandered... no... been derailed from due to rethugs in control for too many years.

33. I wasn't too keen on Kerry at first,
but after watching him and learning more about him I feel that he is the best choice the Democrats have. He is an honest man with good character and I believe that he is the best candidate to go head to head with Bush.
