Simple message: 9/11 & Iraq torture - Bush ignored early warning signs!
When you look at 9/11 and look at the prisoner torture scandal, the two have one major thing in common (other than being two of the biggest government failures in recent history.) Both of them had numerous early warning signs which were ignored by the Bush administration.

This turns the idea of "there's nothing we could have done" into "it's a pattern of failed leadership." It also raises questions about whether Bush learned anything from his failure in preventing 9/11.

Kerry needs to frame his comments in a way that the American people can easily understand and in this case, connecting the prisoner scandal to 9/11 as both having early warning signs which were ignored by the Bush admin, leading to a huge problem for all Americans, is a winning way to frame it. You are basically showing people how Bush cannot be trusted as a leader.

2. I think you are right
This is not the first time the administration has failed to grasp the gravity of a situation.

Given the comments of O'Neal, of Wilson and of Clarke: all essentially saying that there was a single minded obsession with Irar>

I think there is an opportunity of a strong argument.

George Bush has had a simple minded and naive approach to the world.

Plain and simple He has repeatedly shown that he lacks the gravitas to lead the world.

3. This is a theme that is obvious and easily sold - Kerry should make
it one of his top three!

:-)

4. But can Kerry actually make such a statement...
In a debate?

"Mr. President, with all due respect, you are not bright enough for the job and your team has let you down repeatedly."

Not gonna happen. Anyon think of a more subtle way to say the same thing?

6. Does Bush really "ignore" all these signs
or are he and his administration to wrapped up in their theocratic, monopolitic greedy oil-grab to pay attention in the first place?
