Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee money will await primary winners

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) will announce this week the creation of campaign fundraising accounts to help raise money for the eventual party nominee in several competitive primaries.

The new accounts will allow the committee to raise money for general-election campaigns even though candidates have yet to be chosen in the party primary.

“We are making some plans in that regard,” said DSCC spokesman Brad Woodhouse. “Every dollar makes a difference.”

Woodhouse declined to discuss details of the accounts, saying only that the DSCC later this week will announce the creation of the committees and which states will have one. The Democrats currently have Senate primaries in Georgia and Florida.
