Al Gore.

No man is more prepared for the presidency than Al Gore. He also won the 2000 election and was right on Iraq. It would be a vivid reminder for Democrats of the stolen election of 2000.

Just a thought.

1. I don't think Al wants to be VP again.
Otherwise, he's certainly qualified.

3. you're probably right
but if Kerry called him up and said, "for the good of the country--we need someone who will inspire confidence and you're the man to do it." maybe?

8. If Kerry asked him, I think he'd have a hard time telling him no.
I have to admit that I'm not leaning heavily one way or the other on Gore as VP. There isn't a lot of downside, but with all of the recent whining about how the Democratic Party needs to change, picking him as VP obviously wouldn't appease those who are looking for "new blood" in the party leadership.

4. more and more I'm thinking
Gore will want someone who can help him "run the country" and be in a way a co-president--someone with lots of experience and not inspire a collective "WOW" when he is selected but a "yeah, he is ready if something happens." Instead of Dick Gephardt I sure would like someone like Al Gore.

7. the country is not looking for war heroes
just as a package deal against two war hawks like Bush and Cheney. I think competence and experience is what they would relate to more. Don't get me wrong Clark is fine, but I think people are overestimating having two servicemen on the ticket.

10. I understand what you're sayin', and I agree with you intellectually...
please note: the american people have been so 'dumbed down' by shrub, that the only thing they may remember is "hero", and I was using the language to add emphasis to my post.

failure.

6. No No. It's a new day.
I've suffered this same uninspired thought too. It would kill Kerry.
It would be an insult to already elected Gore.

9. Agreed.
Undeniable experience.

More powerful a draw (perhaps too much so) than Clark, Edwards, Dean, et al.

Only Bill Clinton could potentially make the ticket more potent.

11. it'd be a powerful ticket
I'm just glad I don't have to make the decision. I'm sure Kerry's really sweating this one out. Big decision, important election, lots of pressure from all the dem groups. sheesh!

12. Ugh!
They reinforce each others liabilities instead of playing up their strengths. This is as silly as Bill Clinton for VP. Neither man would so demean himself.

13. No.......way!
He lost his chance when he endorsed Dean. Besides, I doubt Gore wants second fiddle again. He'd be good in the Cabinet though in some other position, maybe Environment.

14. No to Gore...
I don't want to go back wards. I want to move forward instead of reliving the past. With Gore on the ticket, it would bring up the Clinton age again. It would show that the Democrats can not go forward but can only be dependent on the old leaders.

Let's go forward...Edwards/Clark...anyone with a fresher face. Let's not live in the past.
