I am leaning to the "war on terror" and defense which would argue for going with Gen Clark as the VP nominee.

3. Total flip from the early primary season
In the very beginning of the primary only Dennis Kucinich thought Bush's lies and the war in Iraq would be central campaign issues for Democrats. I'm glad Kerry and the moderates in the party finally got dragged in the left direction.

4. I saw Tim Russert speaking about issues for the election
And he said the war & economy will be linked, because people will vote on whether things are going well or not.

I agree with that. But if the war worsens, it will be dominant.

5. It depends
If the war started going well (and pigs sprouted wings) a bad economy would trump a "good" war, or even good geopolitical climate. If the war is still a real mess, then a good economy isn't going to trump that. Bush had fear. That's really all he had and he's losing ground on that daily, because is ineptitude is showing.
