Howard Dean to campaign with John Kerry again (info on Kucinich also)
Edited on Thu May-13-04 11:01 PM by JI7
Kerry to visit Oregon next week

<PORTLAND (AP) - U.S. Sen. John Kerry will make his first presidential campaign visit to Oregon next week, Rep. Earl Blumenauer said Monday.

Kerry's visit comes in time for the state's May 18 primary, although he has already won enough delegates from state primaries to secure the Democratic Party's nomination at the convention in July.

The Massachusetts senator will be accompanied by former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean, who enjoyed fervent support in Oregon during his own run to gain the Democratic presidential nomination.

President Bush is unopposed on the Republican ballot. Kerry is listed on the Democratic ballot along with perennial contender Lyndon LaRouche and U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich, who has spent the past month campaigning in Oregon.

Kucinich, a four-time Ohio congressman, has said he hopes a strong showing will persuade Kerry to adopt a more liberal platform. He plans to step down in time for the Democratic convention.>

4. I think he might be more of a Health and Human Services guy
Not that he doesn't have a good sense for foreign policy, but when are you going to get a HHS Sec with political and medical experience. He would be a good choice to head up a drive for universal health care.
