would voting for vp be a good idea ?

not as we vote in primary for the presidential candidate. but what if kerry did something like have a final short list with about 3 names which he chose and then allowed people to vote for who will be vp from those names. this shouldn't be a requirement but what if he just did something like that on his own. would it turn the vp thing into a joke or would it bring attention and interest and support ?

in 1956 Adlai Stevenson thru open to the convention to select a VP and we had Estes Kevauver (I misspelled that), Hubert Humphrey, Al Gore, Sr. and Jack Kennedy vying for the nomination. It isn't a bad idea--but then it would just turn into a popularity contest.

2. Wow, with the republicans controlling the voting process....

...this is the last thing we need. Let's get the vote back under our control first. Bring back voter ballots and exit poll research first and hold the voting precincts accountable.
