Clark Bandwagon: I would like to join the party
Edited on Fri May-14-04 03:49 PM by beyurslf
I admit it: I was not ready to support Clark in the primaries and was cautious of him. I was not sure of his intentions and didn't want to see him be the VP. He has won me over, though. His outspoken criticism of this administration is just what a VP should be doing. He is a straight shooter who tells it like is and is not afraid to "mix it up." I think he appeals to independents, to men, and to the voter who feels left out of the politics game.

I wanted to hold out for a woman or a minority. I really like Landrieu and Richardson but that day will come.

I officially join the bandwagon, I guess you could say and want to see Clark put on the ticket.

(This is not to say that I begin bashing the other Democrats who are on the list for VP. They all have good qualities. I do however reserve the right to point out why any Republican should not be on our VP ticket.)

1. Come aboard, hope this banwagon goes far ;-)
Some joined after watching him on CNN, some later in the draft, some after he declared, some after he dropped out...
Funny, even nader started quoting Clark on war (after chiding Michael Moore for supporting him)

4. I have to agree.
As much as I like John Edwards(Who would make a great SECLAB or AGUSA), now is the time for the gravitas that Wes Clark would bring to the table. He cannot, by law, be SECDEF. So be it. Hence, the natural spot for him is VP. The repukes WILL NOT be able to impeach this ticket on defense issues.

Now is the time for this pairing. It just makes too much sense.

5. Welcome!
I think a lot of people were in your shoes -- Clark kind of came out of nowhere (Democratically speaking) and into the race for president. Some weren't sure what his message was, and if they were, they weren't sure if he was sincere. I'm glad so many people have been able to keep an open mind as time and circumstances change.

You picked a good time to sign up, too. Lots of chum in the waters. Here's hoping.

8. Appeals to this woman....bigtime
His article in the Washington Monthly recently about Iraq and the neocons was masterful...and why I supported him so fervently. He understands and he can teach.

At this point in our history, John Edwards offers us a smile. We need a man who can help explain to those who can think and choose to...that there is another way to fight terrorists.

Keep talking Wes...we need to hear your wisdom.

11. Welcome to the team
Early in the primaries the WaPo did a semi-hit job on Clark. The article contained quotes from many people; some of whom were Clark supporters, but others of the variety of standard Pentagon issue who claimed that Clark had "sharp elbows." When the writer questioned them as to why they chose Clark to be on their team, the answer was: oh, you always want him on your team because he makes you look good.

I want Clark on Kerry's and the Democratic team because I want us to both look good and do good. That's what Wes brings.

A friend of his of 41 years wrote that Wes "lifts those around him up." After 4 years of pure insanity the country needs some heavy lifting.

I am glad that you are joining the Wes Wing of the party, and hope that you really take the time to know the brilliant life that is Wes Clark. Welcome aboard.
