I'm really annoyed with Tom Daschle regarding Zell Miller
Has Daschle said anything about Zell? Zell has been going on making all sorts of outrageous comments about Kerry, yet Daschle can't even defend Kerry or say anything about Zell.

There's an interesting discussion on dailykos about democratic party strategy sessions. Is Miller allowed at these?

It's not only time for Daschle to remove him...but it's time for Daschle to step down as the party leader -- either majority leader or minority leader. He's extremely weak and is not even safe in his own seat. We need a leader from a safe blue state...

1. We need Dick Durbin!
Intelligent, articulate, impeccable liberal credentials, senior senator from a safe, blue state, and.............. absolutely LOVES to do battle with Republicans!

2. why is miller still a democrat
what a hypocrite, his ideas are republican, and yet he remains a democrat in name only. Can the democrats kick him out?

3. I would be fine with that, but there would be a price
it would effectively be writing off the Democrats' chances in the Georgia Senate race. That seems likely anyway, so Daschle or some other prominent Senate Democrat should do it.

6. Yes, I can't imagine that anyone in GA is so stupid as to support
Democrats if Miller stays in, and vote against them if he is kicked out. Anyone who likes Zell Miller and his views is not going to support any real Democrat.

8. IMO, Daschle should have stepped aside years ago.
He should have did like Gephardt did and resigned leadership after the electoral disaster during the midterm elections. He's a persistently weak leader.

9. Chris Dodd or Harry Reid would be the best replacments...
...I like Durbin (even if a disagree with him but he's too liberal)... Dodd or Reid would be ace far better than Daschle imho... perhaps even Bill Nelson (he was in the house for a decade) and from his recent appearances on TV I've been impressed.
