Kerry should wait as long as possible to announce veep
It is driving the right wing media (read: all of them) nuts. They are all desperate to change the story line for poor Georgie. Nothing would help W more than for Kerry to announce his pick, because then CNN and Fox and MSNBC, et al, forced to cover actual hemmoraging news events for a few weeks now, would be able to focus on 24/7 character assasinations, profiles, voting record rundowns, poll analysis, blah blah blah.

But all the "pundits" are going crazy over it. I say let 'em squirm. Wait, John. No presidential was ever won on the veep choice.

1. Yes
I'm sure he's already decided who he's going to pick, it's just a matter of timing for the announcement.

7. As long as the mess in Iraq lasts,
I think he should wait too. The quagmire the chimp has in Iraq is a f****** mess and all it's doing is helping the Democrats. The entire administration is going down in flames and as long as it is....let 'em BURN!!!! Burn baby burn! Kerry should just keep doing what he's doing while they squaller in the mess THEY created. Don't let the media change the subject...this is too GOOD!

10. I agree that Senator Kerry should wait
If Iraq keeps up like this, it will not matter who he picks. Senator Edwards is potentially a better choice if the campaign is goind to turn on domestic issues and is a more polished campaigner. Gen. Clark is a better choice if the emphasis is on security and the war on terror.

However, while Bush is self destructing, there is no need for Kerry to take any attention away from Iraq or Rummy.

12. i completely agree. no hurry. make them sweat it out. besides,
it's a nice change that they have to deal with their own media fiascos. they've had a free ride the past 3.5 yrs and this is LOOOOOOOONG overdue. we have a winning combo no matter who kerry picks.

14. good notion
I agree; the VP decision should be unveiled at a time when Kerry needs a nice bounce against Bush. Right now Bush is self-destructing, so Kerry should hold onto the VP weapon until he really needs it.

The only downside to waiting is that when he has a VP, that guy (or gal) can be out there campaigning and providing a nice counterbalance to Darth Cheney. But for the moment, I think he's handling it pretty well by himself.
