17. ROTFLMAO!!!
You certainly have a way with words. I'd add boredom in there too, but it doesn't rhyme.

7. No, we're not.
Edited on Tue May-18-04 06:07 PM by Padraig18
We've nominated a perfectly decent candidate who is several orders of magnitude better than *, and we need him to pick a VP of unquestionable Democratic credentials. The poeple WILL vote for us, IF we present them with a clear alternative. John McCain is not part of that clear alternative.

I wish Biden would just shut the hell up, btw.

20. In his 32 years in the Senate, Biden has been a reliable Democratic vote
I don't always agree with him, especially over the last couple of years. However, if you look at his career in its entirety, his voting record has been excellent. He has solid credentials on pro-choice, labor, human rights and environmental issues.

For a good analysis of how he is viewed by various liberal/conservative interest groups, Project Vote Smart is an excellent resource. Check it out...

21. He needs to put a sock in it about McCain.
Regardless of his 32-year record, he needs to shut up about this topic.

22. Oh, Hell yeah!
Thats why I said I "used" to consider him sane. Lately, especially with this McCain crap, I've been wondering.

8. I dunno. Maybe some are freepers hoping to destroy the Democratic Party?
Edited on Tue May-18-04 06:08 PM by Zorra
Former republicans trying to make the Democratic Party more right wing?

People that have so little faith in the Democratic Party that they think we need a Republican on the ticket because Democrats are not good enough?

Remember: Al Gore won the 2000 election. And he would have done a lot better if he did not have if Joe Lieberman was not his running mate. McCain would destroy Kerry's chances of being elected.

9. If you're a Republican and you're pretty sure you're going to lose
How would you hedge your bets? You'd want (badly) to get on the Democratic ticket so you could ride some coatails into power again.

10. "battered liberal syndrome"?
Honestly, that's all I can think of!

In abusive situations, the abuser manages to convince the victim that nobody else will ever love/help him or her, that the abuser is the ONLY one that can "save" them from the "pit".

11. I'll tell you why I like the guy- then I'll duck
In the primaries last election * was crowned, had all the money and special interest. There was McCain- his handlers forgot to tell him to not tell The truth about how campaigns are bought. He was poking * in the eye and looked like he had a chance. Then * crushed him in the Carolinas.

I don't want him on the ticket, I don't agree with him on a bunch of issues- but his honesty really struck me.

I will scan my voter ID and e-mail it to anyone who wants to verify my party affiliation.

13. For Kerry campaign it's strategy, for people here, I have no idea
But outside DU world, people love the idea of the two parties "coming together", despite the fact that it means someone is getting mightily screwed over. Witness Jon Stewart and others who really like McCain.
