Holbrooke
He was on Newshour, yesterday, or the day before. He'sone of Clark's best friends. He was with Clark when their convoy was hit; he worked with Clark on the Dayton Peace Accords; his (Holbrooke's) wife left Peter Jennings for Holbrooke(This is a fact, and may explain Jennings' attitude toward Calrk in the debates), etc. etc., oh yeah, one more thing, Hoolbrooke is Kerry's foreign policy advisor... wonder who he's telling Kerry would make a good VP???

2. I like both Jennings and Holbrooke.
I think with Jennings track record with women, it may have been a little more complicated than that. LOL. Clark for VP and Holbrooke for Secretary of State !

4. i'm sure holbrooke, jamie rubin and others are pushing Clark
i'm thinking many of those being considered for vp have people working with kerry now that can get in a good word about who they want. i know labor is pushing gephardt and many southerners are pushing edwards. and i would pretty much bet holbrooke, jamie rubin, and others who worked with clark would like to see him as vp.

5. I wonder?
I honestly think the odds are in Clark's favor. Any way you look at it....Who has foreign policy experience? Who can stand up to the warmongers during the campaign? Who does the WH fear the most? Who has the best chance of helping Kerry win? Who has a degree in Economics and use to teach it (domestic plus)? Who has been in the Pentagon and knows where the bodies are buried? Who has experience in diplomatic matters? Who is known and RESPECTED by foreign leaders around the WORLD? The answer to all of the above? WESLEY KANNE CLARK!

Go Wes! :bounce:

14. My dear Incog, you have most excellent taste!!
My sentiments exactly. The man is perfect, he has no flaws, he is brilliant, articulate, compassionate, driven, fierce, and awful darn cute.:loveya: Gert is a very lucky lady. And so will we be, if he takes any kind of public office.

He is my guy, has been since July of last year. That is longer than most of my boyfriends last.

We should form a Clark Admiration Society.

Here's to ya!

6. I thought Holbrooke himself might be high on the list because his persona
Edited on Fri May-21-04 11:25 AM by AP
is one of being a man of both war and peace.

He was right there at all the hot spots but his role was always to bring peace without the use of force, but through agreement and negotiation.

It would be a powerful commentary about what's needed in Iraq.

7. I saw that interview
Holbrooke was really good. He looks like he's lost weight and his skin looks better. He comes across as very erudite.

8. Was really impressed
with him. Kerry needs to get him "out" more often. He seems to be a voice of reason, calm and extreme clarity!

10. He said emphatically that Kerry will be 'staying the course.' woo hoo!
He also reiterated that the war was the right thing to do, and that kerry definitely will not be 'cutting and running.' Said anybody who had a problem with that ought to vote for Nader. Sounds like a plan.
