Fight for America, Fight for the South!

To: Democratic Presidential Candidate John Kerry,

The Southern United States was once solidly supportive of the Democratic Party. We believe the South can be a vital part of the Democratic Party again, if Democrats work hard to include Southern voters in their "big tent" of democracy. Democrats must make good on George W. Bush's failed promise to unite America. As the Democratic Party's Presidential nominee, you are in a unique position to heal the divisions that hold America back from reaching its full potential for greatness.

How can you do this? It isn't difficult! You don't have to pander to the South, or concoct a special "Southern Strategy." You simply have to remember the following:

* When you fight for middle class families, remember to fight in the North, and in the South.

* When you fight for health care for children and seniors, remember to fight in the West, and in the South.

* When you fight for better job opportunities for all Americans, remember to fight in the East, and in the South.

Southerners are faithful and patriotic Americans, and they share that common American goal of a nation united--with liberty and justice--for all people. What the Democrats need is a common strategy for all Americans, based on respect, equality, and fairness.

Fight for the South as you would fight for all of America. Respect and remember the South, and Southern voters will continue to remember their long history of support for democratic principles. Eventually, they'll also come to remember the Democratic Party as the home of those same principles.
