Bayh isn't losing sleep over Nader's remarks
<Independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader doesn't think much of Sen. Evan Bayh, D-Ind.

Bayh, Nader said disparagingly, is a "very soft Democrat."

In Indianapolis on Tuesday, Bayh shrugged off Nader's criticism.

"As I understand it, Mr. Nader opposes John Kerry for president, and he opposes me for vice president," Bayh said. "So I guess I'm in pretty good company."

Bayh was in Indianapolis to speak to workers at Allison Transmission Division of General Motors Corp., which makes transmissions for armored personnel carriers and Abrams battle tanks. He also visited the AM General plant in Mishawaka, which produces Humvees, and an ITT Industries plant in Fort Wayne.

They gave him safety goggles to wear. But -- perhaps mindful of the TV cameras and how he might look in them -- the goggles stayed in his pocket.>

2. I'm not particularly keen on Bayh myself.
So Nader and I agree on that much.
I'll take Edwards or Clark.

7. Nader was too kind toward Bayh...
A "soft" Democrat? Bayh votes with the republicans 3/4s of the time. You can't get much softer.

8. I agree.
Nader is closer to being a Democrat than Bayh.
But I guess the label is what is really important.

Zell Miller = Democrat

5. When Nader decides to become a Democrat, then perhaps...
...he can judge whether one is "soft" or not...

11. LOL
Yeah, because it's definitely more important to spite Nader than pick a good progressive VP.
Sheesh.

14. LOL, to Nader it is more important to spite democrats than have a
Populist Liberal like Al Gore instead of bush in the whitehouse. Karma's a bastard.

16. I have to agree with Nader
If kerry needs a more conservative vp, he'd be better off with McCain, who is much more interesting, and an independent thinker. Sure, Gephardt or Edwards would be better than Bayh, and Clark would cinch the deal. My heart sinks a little when I consider Bayh as the veep. hope not, hope not (fingers X'd).
