9. SF would have been ideal, but
would have never gotten it, because of the time difference.

2. It's not very inclusionary
particularly since the Dems seem to need to touch base with the South.
I still think Dems need to talk to Southerners about how their policies actually benefit them more and holding the big ta-do in Boston sends the wrong message.
No offense to Boston. I love Cheers! :)

3. Why didn't we choose Cleavland. The Mid-West is the place....
to be this year. With the job losses, we need to focus on the Mid-West.

St. Louis was another strong choice.

5. I'm not,and I live there!
It can't handle it and will create chaos with the closing of an Interstate 4 hours a day.

16. Yep,they're closing 93
and North Station and the tunnel and bridge.

You'd have to drive down 128/95 and get on the Mass Pike(I-90),It will be an absolute nightmare!

Even public transportation will be affected.

7. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH BOSTON
Boston is perfect. I know that Republicans will point to it as being too "liberal," but I say GOOD!

I think that this convention should serve as a wake-up call to fair-weather Democrats that what we need right now is a return to our liberal roots, our American heritage, against this conservative monarchy that has cast us into this war and into international ill repute.

Put Edward Kennedy up on that stage. Let's remember Jack and Bobby. Let's remember the Progressive Revolution that started in Boston a hundred years ago. And the Progressive Liberal Revolution that began in Boston over 200 years ago. We cast off the shakles of one KING GEORGE. Let's do it again!!!!

Let's celebrate Boston's central role in finally ridding our nation of this blatant homophobia and anti-gay animus.

For all of this to happen, though, we need to TAKE A STAND AGAINST TERRY MCAWFUL AND THE REST OF THE DLC DEMS WHO ARE GETTING US CAUGHT IN THIS QUAGMIRE.

Why am I saying this???? Because THIS WEEKEND IS OUR CHANCE TO TAKE A STAND.

The convention may be in July, but the Platform is being decided now. THIS WEEKEND, in Baton Rouge (deep in the conservative south, "coincidentally") is the second part of the Democrats "interactive" platform tour. The Topic: NATIONAL SECURITY.

They say that there are going to be EXPERTS there. I suggest that there should be DEMOCRATS there. Let's not let the bosses hijack our liberal foreign policy moment and create a lame Bush-Lite. Call the bosses at 202-863-8000 or email them at http://www.democrats.org/contact/.

It's time to put an end to George (Orwell) Bush's "Homeland Security." It's time to stick HIM down the memory hole.

8. It seems like the "Safe" choice
but MA is also predictable and insulated. I think it would have given Dems a lot more bang for the buck to shoot for a convention site closer in a swing state. St.Louis or Cleveland...some place where it might gain some votes and move us past some of the NE liberal establishment associations that the pugs are perpetually throwing around against Kerry.

15. BAD choice
Edited on Fri Jun-04-04 02:20 PM by Rainless Blur
How about hosting it in a swing state? I know they made the plans years ago but Miami, Portland, Seattle, Des Moines, Kansas City, Cincinatti, Cleveland or Detriot all would've been better choices.

Edit: Oh yeah, St. Louis too!

17. Boston, hotbed of the 1st American Revolution vs. King George
is now the hotbed for the next American Revolution against a King George wannabee !!

The irony couldn't be richer.
