High opinion of yourself, Mr. Colmes?
Somehow I got myself on an e-mail list for journos sent out by the Republican Party. They send the day's talking points. Here is a sample. Note that the source, apparently, is Alan Colmes, talking about hismself...

Talkers Profile Alan Colmes

Fox News Live with Alan Colmes became the lead offering of the new Fox
News Radio division. Once again, Colmes found himself breaking new
ground bringing the Fox brand name to radio and instantly establishing
himself as the reigning liberal in the medium. This wildly popular show
is being grabbed up by stations all over the country, and garnering
ratings and revenue. (SOURCE: Alan Colmes)

Yes, my goal in life is to be declared the 'reigning liberal' by the GOP.

there's more. I will post when time permits....

1. My FAUX loving sister-in-law
asked me why they couldn't find a good liberal to go up against Hannity. I looked at her with incredulity and said "uh, that's the point. FOX doesn't WANT a strong liberal because they don't want to make conservatives look bad." She immediately poo-pooed that notion because it disagrees with her view of FAUX. So even FANS of FAUX recognize that he's a schmuck.

2. Molly Ivins or Jim Hightower - but they probably have too much class to
darken the door of a Fox studio - and no point in giving insanity boy any credibility-by-association. Best thing is for true liberals to ignore Fox entirely.

3. Like I said to my sister-in-law
no way in hell would FAUX ever hire anyone like that because they might actually be convincing and make Hannity look like the tool he is.

4. This may be attempt to stop Air America's success...
by putting on a softer version of a "liberal" radio show. That's my guess.

But I doubt it'll work. I consider myself a moderate, and even I am not fooled by Colmes.

5. I've been thinking about Alan Colmes after reading his book.
A friend lent it to me, I would not buy it.
My thought is maybe Alan is being very smart. Think about it. The far right folks will never agree with Alan because he is a democrat. The far left is annoyed with him for letting Sean get away with his bushit, but it won't tern us from the left. Then there are those undecided. They watch H & C on faux. Sean is a yelling his lies, insulting anyone who dares question him or the right in general. Then there's Alan, calmly letting sean rant, stating where he disagrees, not interrupting and not insulting. How might that look to those in the middle?

6. Like a wimp.
Like I stated above, my sister-in-law can't figure out why he's so ineffective. She's a FAUX fan but by no means a bedrock conservative.
