A look at a few potential vice presidential candidates and what they're doing on John Kerry's behalf:

* Gov. Tom Vilsack of Iowa spoke to the Wisconsin Democratic Party convention on Saturday. "There's a lot of work that has to be done," Vilsack told more than 1,000 Democrats in Appleton, Wis. "This ultimately is going to be about who has the best ground game."

* Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina raises money and addresses Democrats this weekend in Texas and Louisiana.

* Rep. Dick Gephardt of Missouri hosted a fund-raising reception in Chicago on Monday.
