Hillary can't win by lowering her own negatives. She can only win be increasing his his. He has to take off the gloves are start attacking her on her lies. That's the only way.
But she is happy to twist the knife in the back of someone her own campaign admits is 90% likely to be the Democratic nominee with every single little bit of it.

No reason for him to go negative and risk his negatives getting near her level. He just needs to play it cool while the MSM tries to pretend Hillary has a chance.
he's preparing for the GE and knows there is no reason to attack HRC, that attacking is not going to make a difference. This is the attitude of someone thinking in the long term, someone getting ready for the fight with McCain. Didn't he say something about attacking only when it was really necessary. Attacking HRC is probably not necessary for Obama right now.
He can not attack as Clinton has done, he must stay on the high road. Obama has to court these voters once the nomination has been sealed. Plus he can not have the perception of attacking a white elderly woman...he will lose. Obama's hands are pretty much tied for right now. He has to stay on the issues.
