This is no time to go wobbly
Sorry to be quoting Margaret Thatcher, but I sense that it is an appropriate sentiment when I hear wobbly Obama supporters getting sucked into the idea that we need to fear angry black people and anyone remotely in tune to their reawakening cause. If you haven’t figured it out yet, the establishment’s best hope of keeping a corrupt system intact is pitting good people against good people on the basis of what they don’t understand about each other.

We may never get another chance to declare what America is really about if we walk away from a courageous man who decided not to wait until it was too late. We are so close to restoring the democracy we were taught in school, but we may just blow it. Who could have imagined that when our future hinges on critical issues, the only issue commanding the airwaves is the ranting of the Christian former pastor of a man many have been duped to believe is actually a Muslim.

We have been indoctrinated for all our lives that we are uniquely entitled to freedom and immune from tyranny by virtue of our American citizenship. It is difficult for us to accept that we have been betrayed by our own government, one we presumably chose. We have to face the painful truth that our claim on justice is tenuous at best and our best chance to defy the power that has perverted our democracy is in peril. This is not the time to get discouraged. It is the time to get inflamed.

3. Inflamed? Burn baby burn!!!!
Yes indeed, ultimately our greatest threat is that we defeat ourselves by not being willing to give it our all. No time for jelly-legs, I'm in it for the looooooong haul!

4. Yes, Maggie Thatcher was a war horse "Iron Lady" but she never whined about "being a girl"
She just beat "the boys" at their own game without the "feigned indignation" and posturing fragile for sympathy.

Yes, I despised Thatcher's beliefs, but I respected her as a leader.

HRC is no leader ... even that old war horse, Maggie Thatcher, had SOME (not many) morals.

5. Courage is not a problem.
I am re-reading Palast's "Armed Madhouse" now...a good reminder of the ocean of sh*t we need to end.

Having daughters, one needs a steady gaze into the future that we will build and that they will have to live in. This election is an easy choice.

8. Believing that telling off one loudmouth Black man will cost every Black vote in America...
Edited on Thu May-01-08 12:59 AM by WilliamPitt
...is buying into the idea that all Black people think the same, that they are nothing but a flock of birds following the tailfeathers in front of them, that they lack the capacity to decide for themselves whether or not they think Wright was out of line...

...or in other words, those voters don't think or come to conclusions the way we do; they'll do what the others do instead, because they all think alike and every Black person can and does speak for the whole collective, so attacking one is like attacking all.

Garbage.

How this shakes out will become clear in time, and don't be surprised when the smart kids who believe what I wrote above find themselves trying to explain why Black voters went for Obama even though he *gasp* scolded another Black man.

Clinton and Queen Latifah. Remember? As I recall, the sun actually did come up the next day, and later on, Clinton won the election.

You confusing your Lady Rappers! LOL!

And yes, Yesterday was Obama's Sista Souljah moment, although the Talking head cynics haven't gotten the memo yet.

9. Thanks, I didn't see this positive post or I would
have replied earlier. Gotta keep the positive ones kicked and let the negatives sink. Yeah, right.

It's a mindset..Obama's going to win..they're not going to destroy us this time. The dark forces have been rearing their ugly heads a lot in all shapes, ways, and forms but that's when we need to be the strongest..and I can imagine turning off brainwash central would go a long way in making that possible.

12. This is when the saying "It's not going to be easy" shows its teeth
Cable news and hate radio are in a complete and obsessive Wright meltdown and it's bled over to the more generic MSM. The Clinton and McCain campaigns and their fanatic enablers are fanning the flames hoping, praying for a Hail Mary knock out punch that will destroy Barack Obama as a viable presidential candidate.

It's a shitstorm but Obama is holding up and will come out all right. Hang tough.
