Mellencamp-Clinton Tix Ready For Saturday
Interesting, someone had posted an article previously, indicating that original Edwards supporter John Mellencamp had shifted to the Obama camp after Edwards suspended his campaign. But it appears JM is trying to help Clinton as well. As the article indicates, "You might say he’s an equal-opportunity rocker."

http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/2008...

"John Mellencamp fans who want to attend the singer’s performance at a Hillary Rodham Clinton event on Saturday night need to pick up free tickets online or at a campaign office, an announcement today said.

Mellencamp will join the Democratic presidential candidate on the Lawn at White River State Park, 801 W. Washington St., at 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Gates open at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are available at the Hoosiers for Hillary Indianapolis Headquarters, 445 N Pennsylvania St., (317) 917-1430; and at the campaign’s Southside office, 7813 S. US 31, where the phone number is (317) 859-2008. Tickets can also be found online at www.hillaryclinton.com/concert/.

"Mellencamp sees Democrats as the greatest hope for change, Bob Merlis, Mellencamp’s publicist, said earlier this month, though he noted that “neither candidate is as liberal as he would prefer.” Mellencamp supported John Edwards earlier this year and performed for Wesley Clark, Howard Dean and Edwards in 2004."

with that name of course. The ultimate unity ticket.

I can't take credit.

That was a name a friend of mine used for his comedy rock band a few years ago. Spinal Tap was taken. I wasn't lying when I said I prefer Bruce Cougar Mellenstein :) Mostly just drunken mumbling about cars, garages, turnpikes and stuff.

But this Indiana hayseed was raised on both. so its mostly poking fun at childhood. It was either that or a band called Van Hagar and that Dude from Extreme.

3. John Mellencamp and Bruce Springsteen both have their hearts in the right place.
They know who the enemies are and do their part.

4. It is interesting to note
that Mellencamp, who was a strong Edwards supporter, is staying neutral.

Eventually one will surface.

Personally, I cannot choose either one. I don't find a true "Edwards agenda" in either platform.

Since you edited your post, I'll have to edit my answer. I believe Edwards would have kicked Son of Cain's ass; Clinton or Obama? I'm not so sure. We can only hope.

21. My candidates celebrity supporters are better than your candidates celebrity supporters.

It appears we are as much a part of the problem as the media we seek to change.

6. Didn't he do Farm Aid for small farmers? Too bad he doesn't know about Rural Am for Hillary:
Yee-haw

October 18, 2007 10:06 AM

So later this month, according to THIS INVITATION, the presidential campaign of Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, is holding a "Rural Americans for Hillary" lunch and campaign briefing at the end of this month….

..but she's holding it in Washington, DC….

…at a lobbying firm…

… and specifically, though it's not mentioned in the invitation, at the lobbying firm Troutman Sanders Public Affairs…

…which just so happens to lobby for the controversial multinational agri-biotech Monsanto.

You read that right: Monsanto, about which there are serious questions about its culpability regarding 56 Superfund Sites, wanton and "outrageous" pollution, and the decidedly unkosher (and quite metaphoric) genetically-bred "Superpig."

7. Apparently Mellencamp is a staunch Democrat who wants a White House win.
He hasn't endorsed either remaining candidate, so I assume he must have reservations about both.

It appears Edwards and his platform are still tops for Mellencamp, otherwise he would have endorsed one over the other. But yes, he is a hard working Dem.!

Celebrities making statements and doing events for more than one candidate is common.
