Lady Macbeth vs. Othello
According to Wikipedia, Macbeth is a play about "...the dangers of the lust for power and the betrayal of friends."

Also according to wikipedia, Othello deals with "racism, love, jealousy and betrayal — it remains relevant to the present day..."

What's old is new again.

1. except that Obama is nothing like Othello
Obama is the epitomy of grace under pressure.
Othello's downfall was his insecurity and his uncontrollable temper.

As I've posted here before, Clinton is Prince Hamlet. She began as the "rightful heir" but her own machinations brought her down.

3. Mrs. Clinton picked up the nick name Lady Macbeth
Edited on Thu May-01-08 02:29 PM by cosmik debris
in the 80's in Little Rock. (She always seemed to have blood on her hands)

Many people seem to have forgotten that.

2. The inexperienced Othello is manipulated into murdering his wife and then commits suicide.
Nice comparison.

4. And Lady Macbeth brought down the whole kingdom
because of her lust for personal power.

History is fun, even when it is historical fiction.

5. So you're saying Obama is like Lady Macbeth? I guess I can see it.
He's a lying, conniving snake in the grass whose hubris will destroy us....

I think he's more like Iago, though. He's convinced everyone he's the honest and nice guy, when he's the one twisting the knives in people's backs.

7. Senator Clinton is Lady Macbeth
A name she picked up after she cost her husband his first re-election campaign because of her naked lust for power.
