It will appear reddish. Good idea, though, if the list can be programmed to change color when someone is tombstoned.

We all bring something to the community of this forum. There are some Hillary supporters who irritate me and one or two who are real asshats. But they are OUR asshats, part of our forum, and if they were to leave th entire timbre of the forum would change.

Why can't people just ignore the asshats they can't tolerate? If asshats are ignored long enough, they do go away, OR THEY CHANGE to better fit the forum. I saw it on the ACLU boards when I was moderator.

As you haven't been here long, just take my word for it; the function is necessary, and the decisions are never made hastily. There's usually a reason for it, and it's not just because the poster 'didn't understand the rules', but because they've established an incorrigible pattern of disruption.

The majority of them were freepers and such trying to sow discord, while others were chronic forum rule-breakers. Still others were 'sock puppets' from the formerly TS'd.

Many bannings have been controversial and arguably unjustified, but there are times when even long time, valued members have worn out their priviledge.

I thought him/her/it was actually using some of our more exhuberant posters comments as an excuse to slam Obama and his supporters. But it was fairly transparent, so I don't see what the outrage is all about.

There has been another poster who has consistently personally attacked me, instead of dealing with the issues. This has gone on for days and days, and that poster is still here.

So I deal with it. I don't go running to the Mod Mommy to help me deal with an inappropriate poster.

But not everybody is the same, and some people can't deal with these issues themselves.

They're not all-seeing.

Seriously, the only way I would ever alert a post is if I thought there was a credible risk to someone, which hardly ever happens.
