Poll question: 2012
Worst case scenario, we lose to McCain and you're still stuck in America. Or you escaped but you are still deeply interested in the election.

Well, almost worst-case 'cause this assumes there will still be an election.

Let's say for the sake of argument, Edwards, Kucinich, Biden and others have either decided against running or have already dropped out -- no new candidate has emerged, and these four have all decided to run: Hillary Clinton, Al Gore, John Kerry, Barack Obama

Who would you be supporting?

2. Obama all the way
Don't even really have a second choice. I don't think Kerry will run again...Gore probably won't either. If either of them were to run again they would have done so this year.

18. If Obama blows it in the general to McCain, he's damaged goods
and the Democratic Party usually is unforgiving to GE losers. He shouldn't get another shot in 2012. If he can't beat McCain now, he's not doing it in 4 years. And Hillary is done for if she goes down in the primary or the general.

We need a whole new fresh slate of contenders in 2012. And we need more of our governors to take a chance.

4. If Gore didn't run this time, he won't in four years
It could have been him in Obama's position doing battle against Hillary and her dirty kitchen sink.

7. If Obama doesn't win this year, 2012 won't matter
Because there will be neither a party nor a country left to require a President.

So fuck 2012..... bring on 2112

12. I know, I left him out in the cold.
Along with many others. I only chose the four who IMO have come closest - since there's a near-tie this year and Gore / Kerry each arguably really won, I thought the results of this poll would be interesting. I know a lot of people like Edwards (me), Kucinich (me), Biden (me), Dean (maybe me), Clark (not really me), Richardson (me).... but in reality this poll is designed to guage the real support for Hillary and Obama in 2012 if Hillary succeeds in sinking Obama's chances against McCain or somehow manages to wrest the nomination away but still loses.

10. Gore/Obama...but in reality I'd want Gore/Dean
Gore/Dean would have been one of hell of a ticket this year. :(

11. If Obama gets screwed over by the party and McCain wins
Which likely WILL happen because democrats will lose a LOT of support (Including mine)

Then McCain will get in and with their newfound power to full the American people he will do whatever it takes to gain as much power as possible.

So come 2012 we may have an election. 2016 is even less likely.

Im putting my last hopes in Obama. He is the only one that can tear through this mess at this point.

14. Kerry us Crap, why is he added to this? He was the dude left...
after all the others dropped out. Face it Kerry lost to Bush when Bush had a 40% approval rating. Simply put, people were more inclined to vote for a looser they hated than Kerry.

16. Oh NO, NO. definitely NOT. We need NEW BLOOD in 2012 if Clinton and Obama
both go down this year and McCain takes the White House. Are we totally losing our minds??

WE NEED A WHOLE FRESH NEW SLATE OF CANDIDATES TO RUN IN 2012, if we're going to have any shot. And we need MORE GOVERNORS to take the plunge.

If these are our choices for 2012, we have a deathwish and we'll never get the White House back.
