4. I remember all the posts from Kucinich supporters claiming that the powers that be were so terrified
that Kucinich was going to win that they were literally shaking.

SOP for when a candidate begins the slide down to obscurity.

6. Actually with Kucinich you have a point
but it is going to take a while for the silly season to pass for people to get it

The two candidates we have are all but true progressives... and the race has been engineered by the media

17. It's as if they are there just to make us think there is some independence.
There are times when they accidentally slip off script, the mask drops, and it's suddenly "network trouble, we'll be back in a minute".

and orwell got it right

Those who control the past.... control the future

And those who control the message... and boy they are making sure they control both

I mean today is May Day... 1888 haymarket Affair... tell me did you see any mention of that in the media?

(If you watched or heard speeches in other countries, it is likely, but not the US)

Just shows how OLD and unhip your "brain trust" is, can't even work a coffee machine, reminds me of my senile grandfather.. Bet she has a VCR in every room of her Elitist mansion that just blink all the time because she can't set the time on them..

Disco... Sheesh..

Okay this where you give the standard Pee Wee Herman retort, "I know YOU are, but what am I?"

:)

You're very entertaining..

10. LOL as somebody who is now on the sidelines
they are NOT scared of Obama or Clinton... either will do fine... since BOTH are pretty pro corporatists

So Obama is SLIGHTLY better on the war, and Clinton SLIGHTLY better on health care

You think EITHER of these two will give you national health care? And I mean a TRUE health care? NOPE, not gonna happen

Now reality is that the Powers that be rather have a Clinton McCain contest, and for the Clinton Supporters here is the question they are not willing to ask... WHY? After all Fox started to push her the day after the 2006 election

Nppe, don't expect nuthing to change regardless of who gets the nod... and ultimately the WH... ok so the Democrat, insert either here, will be slightly better for my pocket book. That is about it.

And yes I do hope to be proven wrong... but the only way that would happen is the economic meltdown is so deep they either pull out troops or keynes off the shelf.

18. That's the last thing to die
but not with any of these candidates.

And that is my point....

Nobody is afraid of them, the powers that be are pretty happy

They have truly and fully manipulated the elections to have a happy result regardless

Now the last time we were in a crisis that happened, or at least they thought it was safe, was FDR.

As I said, we have a deep melthdown (1929 style) whoever gets the nod will have few choices... whoever gets the presidency will have few choices.

They either pull out the troops to keep the peace and full speed ahead... or they betray their class, like FDR did.

It is funny, but it is liberating to be non-partisan during silly season, but the candidates that truly scared them... they were weeded out a while ago. One of them was DK, another was Edwards, as well as Dodd (and his penchant for the Constitution) and finally to a point Bidden, and his real experience.

When the time comes to write the history of the least eight years, including this election... some graduate student will have fun noting how much was stolen and how much was manipulated.

22. There was a time when the powers that be gave a shit, but not anymore.
Of the top 100 economic entities in the world 49 are countries and 51 are corporations. They already have the power, and no government has the ability to take it back away from them any more.

...would give some folks a CLUE. ODD bedfellows doesn't begin to describe it. But nope. They're swallowing the Establishment Spin whole and asking for more. You'd think they'd get whiplash.

The Establishment is bent on tearing Obama down because he's a threat to the Status Quo that keeps them all swimming in power and money. They're tearing him down because they're afraid he'll represent US more than THEM. And on that, they are RIGHT. Oh. And to make it WORSE - he's BLACK.

"God Bless The Rich People" - says Hillary. And she has the AUDACITY then, to call OBAMA "elitist"?! OH THE IRONY AND HYPOCRISY! Don't even TRY to tell me that woman is NOT a Republican. Pfft!

31. You are correct...
Clinton runs in the corporate herd and will not be making ANY significant changes to work in our benefit.

Plus, we really need to end the dynasty theme that has plagued the Hill. If Clinton was to get nomination and the win(not gonna happen), will we end up with Jeb Bush 2013? that might be who she would select as her VP.

34. Shit scared of Obama's Fed Chairman: Paul Volcker -- the Anti-Greenspan
Paul Volcker was Fed Chairman during the late 1970s.

Paul Volcker saved the U.S. dollar by raising interest rates to 18%.

Today Bush/Clinton's (protege of Greenspan) Bernanke cut rates to 2%.

The powers-that-be do not want to save the U.S. dollar.

Volcker would do that. And Volcker is one of Obama's guys.

Unfortunately, the corporations have little to fear from either of our candidates. There are reasons to support Obama, but not that one. Look at his voting record, and his interview with Wallace, and realize that he's no threat to the establishment.
