Apparently, Clinton campaign agrees with Bush on one point: experts are irrelevant
Edited on Fri May-02-08 09:05 AM by Mass
Hillary Clinton is insisting to support a policy that every single expert has qualified as nonsense, the temporary tax cut on gas. And, when asked why, here is Wolfson's answer":

Making matters slightly worse, the Clinton campaign acknowledged yesterday that every policy expert of every ideological stripe has described the McCain-Clinton idea as nonsense, but they don’t care.

“There are times that a president will take a position that a broad support of quote-unquote experts agree with,” spokesperson Howard Wolfson said. “And there are times they will take a position that quote-unquote experts do not agree with.”

Last time a president insisted on not listening to experts led us to Iraq and Katrina disasters. Do we need more of the same so that Mrs Clinton can continue to pander?

Note: it may be a political winning more, but it should tell us a lot about the honesty of Mrs Clinton. This cut is a bad move at several levels, and she knows it or she should not be president.
