This is how many Republicans really feel about McCain
I came across these at a Rethug online store in the middle of all the anti-Democrat buttons.

Keep this in mind. Once we get through our Primaries and get behind our nominee, we will be a united party against a divided and conflicted GOP. McCain is very vulnerable if we can remind the Rethug base of their long held hatred against their own candidate.

I truly believe they originally set up McCain to fail this November. They thought they didn't have much chance, but now our Primaries have gotten them thinking they might be able to win it after all. Let's show them how wrong they are.

3. I have a friend who bleeds Republican who says he refuses to vote for McCain unless...
Hillary is the Democratic nominee. The irony is that he thinks McCain is Democrat-lite in the same way that many consider Clinton to be Republican-lite. But give Hillary credit, she really motives Republicans to get out and vote.

4. Same here.
This guy I know calls the 2008 election "My 3 Dems". He's also said he'll only vote for McCain if Hillary is the nominee. He said the only time he would vote for Hillary is if Cheney was the other choice. (His repuke co-worker goes, "I'd stay home.")

If Hillary was to be the nominee these newly-humbled repukes will crash back out of the woodwork to support McCain. They wouldn't need a wedge issue to energize their base, she IS the wedge issue. It seems that some Democrats who've never left their echo chamber have a hard time understanding this.

5. I wish I could retrieve all the posts I have made about McCain....
OF course they picked him to fail, that's exactly WHY they picked him...because...first off, they are trying to get rid of him once and for all...they can't stand him....and they wanted a Democrat to take the fall for raising taxes, and for doing all the painful things that will have to be done to get this country back on track...and it IS going to be painful, folks...it surely is...In fact, I keep wondering why any Democrat would want to take on the job of coming into office behind *...

However...since our primary has decidedly gone from bad to worse...we have, they think, given them an opening...so what we must watch out for now...is who becomes his VP.....I think they will choose very carefully, because whomever it is, could have a dual purpose, to actually win the presidency for the pubs and to take over after McCain.....wb
