What do you think he could have meant by that, seeing as though the comment was made in a scene where they found out an exit poll had Bill surprisingly leading in Indiana? Why would he have said something like that, in that situation?

All I know is it was a dumb thing to say if he did say it regardless of the context unless he was quoting someone.

I listened to the video a lot as well and I believe the first statement was "Those people are shittin'... excuse me... in the white house." not "Those people are shit."

as for the second phrase in dispute, I can't really tell either for sure, but think it most likely is something along the lines of, "How would you like to be in the white house right now?" or something. I think the subtitles used in the YouTube video is an example of the power of suggestion. Putting the subtitles over it and you can be fooled to think that is what is being said.

You know, just like those videos of cats going "Memeow..." and the owner goes "See, Ruffles clearly said "Mama!"

The postulated quotes sound like the language I imagine gets used by politicians behind closed doors (usually without cameras rolling), and with that interpretation in mind, I imagined Steph and Carville playing along like good ol' boys, and was repulsed.

I think I can honestly say I bore no malice against Clinton supporters or Clinton herself. I thought I was seeing evidence of the entrenched racism among the elite. Now, I'm not sure what's on the original or whether the "enhanced" version is substantially different.

But if The Thing We Thought We Heard actually was what was said, I still don't understand exactly what it was supposed to mean.

I listened to it with my headphones...twice. Played it over the speakers, too. I honestly can't tell what he's saying in the second phrase. It's inaudible, IMO.

Plus, the director also said that Kantor didn't say it.

People who are claiming the enhanced version is the same as the original version have the burden of proof.

They've failed.

Without any further evidence, it's a fake in my book.
