Listening to the DVD I have of that movie with the sound cranked... he said it.

I heard "shittin" (excuse me) and the rest was completely indecipherable through my speakers which are high quality. Common sense says that nobody in that high of a position would be dumb enough to say that in front of a camera.

and not worth the SHARK ATTACK attention it's getting. just like the wrongly edited "god bless rich people" or whatever.

I don't think this came from either democratic camp. I think this is from the Republicans to try to mess with the democratic campaign. It's classic Rove, in fact. If bombs online, like in real life, have "signatures" of their makers, this one says: "Love, Karl."

Either this or some clueless college kids thinking they might help Obama while doing the opposite. In addition, a lot of other stuff is getting lost in the blather and noise.

I'm an Obama supporter and I just can't hear what Kantor is saying in the original clip even with the volume all the way up.

I mean, like I care about what a campaign aide said in 1992 even if it were true and he were holding a sign saying 'I HATE YOU ALL'.

I've listened to several versions of the original footage, and he's clearly saying "These people are sitting....in the White House" and it seems far more plausible to me that he followed up with "How would you like to be in the White House right now?"

There were looking at poll results that showed Clinton ahead of Bush in Indiana. Given the context of the moment, that version makes more sense.

I think this was a "black bag" job be a conservative organization to stir up rancor among Democrts.

Reasons why it is stupid:

1) It's not very clear whether he said that or not. I'm a film/video professional and I spend whole days analysing footage for a living. If I was was trying to portray this scene in a film, I'd go and shoot it again because it is not convincing.

2) Even if he said 'shitty' or 'white niggers' or what have you, it's not at all clear who or what he is talking about.

3) It's 1992. Why should I give a fuck?

4) Kantor isn't at the center of Clinton's campaign. Few people besides political junkies would even care who he is.

5) the backlash from accusations of doctored editing or whatever is likely to be a bigger problem than the original material. I wouldn't be in the least surprised if it was a false flag operation.

6) Whoa re all these previously silent posters claiming to represent or be supporters of the Obama campaign? See #5.

Seriously - just pull your head out of your ass already and forget about it. This is such a reach that it is not worth the bandwidth.

Kantor did not call people shit nor did he use the n-word. We can beat Clinton without her style of tactics. There is no need to destroy a man with faked video or the barely audible original which the strategic use of q-tips reveals he said nothing to cause such outrage.

But don't let something like the TRUTH stand in your way. "New kind of politics," "politics of hope" MY ASS!

Kantor has no history of making racist comments. Why would he out of the blue, use the phrase "worthless white nigger" when he KNOWS he's being filmed. Seconds earlier, he apologized to the cameraman for saying "shitting."

This is how you can tell if it is a HRC operative calling in.

Or is it that somebody fabricated a video of Kantor to make him sound like he was making a racial slur?

If it is the former, it is BS. If it is the latter, it is legit. Although I don't think anyone with either campaign was actually involved in making the fake video, so it's pretty much a non-story.

Does it really matter what he said? There's no question that he views the voters of Indiana, and all other non-insiders, as inferior beings.

Forgoing for a moment the dirty trick of the doctored clip from “The War Room,” which falsely had Mickey Kantor using a racial slur, the filmmaker behind the documentary has posted the clip on his Web site to clarify that other point of confusion -- what Kantor was referring to when he cursed. (An apparent source of confusion since the movie came out and some newspaper writers thought he was cursing Indianans. See previous post for that.)

Filmmakers Chris Hegedus and D A Pennebaker write: "We would like to respond to some erroneous statements made today about our film, THE WAR ROOM. These statements alleged certain remarks to Mickey Kantor that simply are not true. The transcript of the scene in question confirms this."

So Kantor was NOT insulting Hoosiers, he was experiencing a moment of schadenfreude about the Bush (Sr.) White House.

There's nothing that could convince me that those three guys, the core of the Clinton machine, are complete arrogant assholes with total contempt for me and everything and everyone I hold dear. What was said doesn't matter to me in the least.
