"Those people are shit...(excuse me)...ing in the White House"...
..."How'd you like to be in the White House right now?"

That's what I heard on my Sennheiser HD 280 pro headphones plugged into my Dell Dimension E521 computer.

There is no doubt in my mind that the above quote is what he said, and it's pretty fucking obvious.

BTW...I'm an Obama supporter. Can't stand Hillary, but this is ridiculous.

2. Obviously the White House would be scared of Indiana primary polls for a Democrat. They care so much
That they are shit.......ing in anticipation of how Bill polls in Indiana.

OK.

3. Here's another report:
Jake Tapper reposted on the Kantor issue:

It's all a mess, though I must say when "The War Room" came out other folks interpreted Kantor to be impugning Indiana residents.

In The Washington Post's review of the film in 1993, critic Desson Howe referred to "a Mickey Kantor comment about the people of Indiana (when it looks as though Clinton's ahead in Dan Quayle's state)."

And a 1995 story in the Sydney Morning Herald said that "As for the good folk of Indiana, they are still recovering from the 1993 documentary War Room, which revealed the grim truth behind the Clinton election campaign. It showed Mr Kantor bursting in on election night to tell other campaign staffers that incredibly, Mr Clinton was doing well even in Republican Indiana. 'And those people are s---!' he declared breathlessly."

15. Well now, that IS interesting, isn't it?
Edited on Fri May-02-08 01:36 PM by Kristi1696
I had to bust out with my headphones too.

And now I've gone back to not being sure of whether he's saying, "It doesn't matter if we win. Those people are shit(ting)...oh excuse me...in the White House...How would you like to be a worthless white n*gger?"

OR

"It doesn't matter if we win, those people are shit. Oh excuse me. In the White House, how would you like to to be a worthless white n*gger?"

With the head phones, it honestly sounds more like the second version. And these snippets that Tapper reported, were they refuted at the time? If not, that seals the deal for me.

ETA:

But for me the end result is the same, Kantor must go.

16. BTW, the WaPo editorial mentioned where the DOCTORED video came from.
Guess who sent it to reporters:

"sent to political reporters this morning by an independent public relations consultant who favors Barack Obama."

11. I knew someone would say something like that.
I gave the specs to show that you don't need sophisticated audio gear to hear what is actually being said, not to try to impress anyone with my admittedly mediocre hardware.

Paid $80 new for the headphones, BTW. Free shipping too!:smoke:

7. That doesn't make sense, and the inflection in his voice is wrong
"Those people MUST BE SHITTING in the White House" is more logical.

10. No one appends a "ING" to a sentence after an interupted "Excuse me"
I have, not in my life, heard this done.

13. Listen again to the original, not the doctored YouTube clip.
The "ing" is before "excuse me", "in the White House" is after.

20. I only hear a single syllable (and not further mouth movement)...
Who knows what the context to it is or what he meant to say. Its all absolutely irrelevant in my opinion. But Im pretty sure I hear, after a dozen or more times, "those people are shit".

25. There is nothing that sounds even remotely close to "White House right now"
in the segment at issue.

He says something about White House, or House, prior to the "How would you like to be" part- you are really distorting this- but then after that he is whispering something that sounds like "on a worthless white tigger (ticker?)"

26. "these people are shit" or are "shitting" is arguable. It sounded like the first when the movie came
because a movie review posted elsewhere in the thread noted it.

But the 'how'd you like to be part....." is ridiculous.

Anyway what the hell .......

Why would Mickey come into a room, in FRONT of a camera and say something as offensive as what the doctored version "suggests" he said?

Carry on now.

31. Bullshit. Try, ""Those people are shit...(excuse me)...you've lived here for a while"
Edited on Fri May-02-08 07:13 PM by JTFrog
He specifically looked at that person and said excuse me "you've lived here for a while", or "you've been here"

Now that is pretty fucking obvious. AND it was reported that way at the time and he didn't threaten to sue anyone. AND he already apologized for using that word but said he was talking about the polls not the people and he sure didn't say he was talking about the fucking whitehouse.

Nice try.
