People...back off of the YouTube deal w/the use of a term we
do not condone on DU.

It has become apparent that people want to talk about this...OK, keep it in one thread, don't use the offensive words, and discuss it to your hearts content.

But don't start a new thread every 15 seconds...and this is a "No Shit" moment...DO NOT use the clip to post what you you say you find so offensive, especially if you are using it as an excuse to publish the words. After all, if you find these words so offensive, why in the world would you even contemplate using them?

I should not have to remind people that this is DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND, not a place where we should be found using silly excuses to use one of the most offensive words in the English language.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter; and it would behoove those that use this as an excuse to persue further racist posts to simply cease and desist.

2. I appreciate your effort...but you do realize that there are already...
approximately, what, fifty to seventy-five threads with those terms in them?

I don't know how you're going to contain it to a single thread.

It's sad to see DU being used to spread lies. Lies against a civil rights activist.

Almost as bad as yesterday, when they took half a quotation and claimed it to be something it wasn't.

Oh well, this is DU.

5. There is no parallel, no matter how much you try to create one.

I'm not concerned about YOUR pain. However, I am sad for Obama and Wright, because it's terrible that their relationship had to be damaged for political expediency.

But this thread isn't about Wright, is it?

It's about the current bunk being contrived against Kantor.

And I think it telling that you attempt to create a flame war in a MOD'S thread.

My last comment to you in this thread.

6. Thank you.
If the moderators could find some way to limit discussion of this garbage to just one thread, that would be terrific. I don't know how you'd do it, but it would improve the atmosphere around here immensely.

(I should point out that I'm an Obama supporter -- really -- and I don't see how pushing junk like this helps either candidate.)

10. Nope, still not locked.
But the OP of that thread is contacting the media (presumably on behalf of the Obama camp) to make sure they have the revised YouTube link, per her own admission.

11. What is the DU-acceptable way of expressing that word?
How many letters do we have to replace with *?

Is it the "N word" or "N-"?

We're going to be hearing it a lot in the months to come, so shouldn't we settle on how we should present it?

14. I have and, my apologies, but I don't see that discussed.
And it seems to me that, should Obama become the nominee, we are unfortunately going to be hearing that word more often and should, it seems, agree upon a way of using it here.

It was an honest question to the mod, no snark intended.

Yes, please. Why repeat it. Just because Hillary goes on O'Reilly and every other interview since, and REPEATS Rev. Wright's flaws word for word, and then denounces them, does not mean that behavior should be emulated. In her case, if they are so distasteful to her, why does she keep repeating it. Rhetorical.

Thank you.
