you agree. I have watched my fellow Obama friends getting all excited about Kantor and say that we are better than this . If Hill said it then I'd say go for it but she didn't . Just like Hill folks and Repukes enjoyed Obama being buried by Wright I say we need to get a hold of ourselves and stick with the issues . Once again we are engaging in tactics designed by Republicans who want to see the Dem Convention turn into a Slaughter house .

At this point I think we should try to agree that it was not fair that Obama is accused of having wacky views because of his Pastor and let's also agree that whether Kantor said something off or not it is no reflection on the Clintons . Remember that was 1992 . That's Bill we're talking about . He's still the man and even if Obama folks are upset with him he's just looking out for his wife .

Come on folks we need to heal the wounds and shit like Kantor and Wright is in my opinion the Repubs FUCKING WITH OUR HEADS

1. Kantor is paid advisor to the clinton camp
I'm fairly certain. And even if he isn't - he plays an active role. Wright never was, nor ever did.

4. I don't think that matters
Look if Hill said something like that I'd say Ok . Hill has lots of people working for her so has Obama . They cannot be resposible for the crap coming out of other peoples mouths . That's all I;m saying . Also I saw the repubs do shit like this and it was a trap . Do forget the debunk will come and then it will actually work for not against Hill

14. you're absoluterly right that the difference is paid advisor, vs wright's NON-involvement,
Edited on Fri May-02-08 04:02 PM by beezlebum
but i'm in agreement that this should not be where we obama supporters go.

when i watched the video, it seemed questionable to me, and believe me, i'm not looking to be nice to hillary and wouldn't mind her dropping out of the race right about last week- and the wright "controversy" over truth to power speech makes this dogpile seem valid for revenge and all, but no, it's just not solid enough, there is too much arguing about what was actually said and whether it's even real. this could be turned around and used against obama, his supporters are using a fake hillary video omg!!1! sucks to his asmar!!1

Where were all of you with your concern when the MSM and Clinton were trashing our front runner the last 6 weeks?

7. I agree 100%
This Kantor episode was unfortunate, but the silver lining is that it shows how insane the "gotcha politics" has become. Which is exactly what Obama has been saying for weeks.

15. I agree
but I think we should make a point about this, and this hardly is making a point. To make the point of association we need to at least run this 24/7 for 3 weeks, at the very least.

18. Yes, and a rec! Kantor is as much a distraction as Wright.
More so, in that Kantor may actually be a bigger distraction for Obama supporters than Wright has been. We need to reject spin like the Wright and Kantor issues, and we need to refocus on defeating McCain.

Edited on Fri May-02-08 04:52 PM by rocknation
We're not the ones who decided that guilt by association was a "legitimate" campaign issue. Now the media find they've painted into a corner: How can they dismiss Kantor as a petty, irrevelant diversion when they didn't see Wright that way? Sit back and enjoy the popcorn, with a glass of schadenfreude to wash it down with...

25. Bill is not just Hillary's husband
He is a former president and one of the leaders of the party. He should have confined his campaigning to behind-the-scenes work focusing on the superdelegates, speaking at events for party insiders, and potential donors.

Had he done that, he would have maintained some level of support among rank and file and maintained the dignity of his position as ex-president. (I do realize that Bill and dignity are words not often used close together.)

Even Poppy Bush (who I despise) kept a fairly low profile when his idiot son was running. He worked behind the scenes, but publicly he was pretty circumspect. Bill should have followed his lead.
